I am that competition shooter that you mentioned earlier, however I do fully realize it is a game. I am fast, like sponsored shooter fast, but no one is shooting back at me. Do I think that knowing my weapons inside and out and being fast as hell would be somewhat of an advantage if shit hit the fan. Sure, however I still want a friend like @Urgentfury12 with me.

Nothing wrong being a comp shooter or a tactical guy. It just gets old listening to the debate between the “gun community”. There is some straight up bad advice dished out on a daily basis. The problem I have with competition guys most of them thumb their nose at the guys that have been on a two way range. There aren’t many comp shooters that can train and lead a platoon of militia in defense of their homes in SHTF but there are millions of tactical guys that can.(get what I mean hopefully)

I totally get it. I really only got into competition shooting because I wanted to be better and standing in a shooting range shooting the same piece of paper over and over isn’t going to do shit for you once you Have the basic fundamentals down.

I predominately shoot 3-gun now. Most of the guys I squad with are former military or pro shooters.

A lot more to combat then competent weapon manipulation. One of the greatest comp shooters is a fat slob(Taran). Strong fit people are harder to kill.

I agree with what you are saying. I don’t have a military background and I am too old to change that. I do think that I am preobably a little more prepared than your average Joe with a carry permit.

I shot with Taran before and he is fat and fast! A lot of the matches have been adding a physical element where you might have to sling your rifle and drag a weighted sled by a chain across a field before the coarse of fire (for example). You should see some of those guys. I have actually seen pro shooters see the match and just go home. They don’t want their point affected.

I am the guy who loves to shoot all day in the cold with gloves on or in the pouring rain. Oh, and we get to shoot out of cars too which takes practice.
