3% is too low, 5% of GUA + 0,5% BA working too , 10% GUA = no BA needed
No Ba or no BB?

I think he was just saying GU can double as an antiseptic basically replacing BA, but BB will still be needed. No Ba or no BB?

What @Eman said is accurate. I don't personally use the microwave though. What I did was just put one of those vials on the stove top (I have a glass top stove), get it hot and shake it until the crystals are gone. Let it sit overnight like he said and see what happens. With the amount of guaiacol you used, it should have held. I'm thinking maybe you didn't heat it enough. Let us know how it goes.My shit didn't end up holding. I ended up getting a small amount (5 or so) little micro crystals in each vial. Kind of disappointed. Don't know where I went wrong. Btw this recipe was at 15% guaiacol, 20%bb, 2%BB and the rest eo. Is heat super crucial? I heated it and it was in solution at one point, even at room temp, but overnight it seemed to crash even though it was very miniscule. I saw numerous quotes saying it would hold.but I can only assume it is my own fault. I've been brewing "normal" esterified compounds for well over a year and have had no problems. Any input is appreciated. Should I try again with the above recipe containing 40% bb?

Have you heard of that before?
BB of course, BA not , 10% of GUA is sufficiently antiseptic

Thanks for the advice guys. I have no problem getting it back into solution by heating a vial I'm just concerned about the remaining 200ml I have that is also crashed lol. And yes, it was 100mg/ml. I suppose a smaller scale test brew would've been a good idea but I was confident in that recipe. I'll try adding 1% more bb as a "first last resort" haha, I don't particularly want to add more Guaiacol either. I'll play around with it and see where that gets me. Thanks again fellas
Guaiacol is highly toxic and makes for a poor substitute even if it had the same strength to prevent bacterial growth that BA does.
Its not a substitute. But like you see, some recipes contains 10-15% GU. And this % is enough to hold oil antibacterial. Why to add another antibacterial compound ?
If you have compound with 10% GU, 1-2% BA and around 20-30% BB like have this TB,TRB recipes....its not a bacteria friendly medium.
About guaiacol like antiseptic compound ?
Yes sir
View attachment 91185 Ok so found the recipe I used to make the test 100. Oil/BB mix needs to be prewarmed, raws are melted by themselves then oil is slowly added over the course of 45-60 minutes, add BA and guaiacol as the mix cools below 250 and leave mixing for another hour.

Its important to have all substances hot ( very hot ) , because if you add cold oil into hot BB+TNE ( also TAC ) - crashing very easy. Will arise flakes - insoluble
Do you think this recipe would work for TrNE if the GU would be brought up to 5% and everything else remain the same?
