Tne recipe @100mg/ml

Anyone make tne without eo or guac?
I've had sources assure me theirs is guac free, but I couldn't say for sure.

You can get it to 50-60mg/ml without it, but sometimes it will crash randomly. I do not tolerate guaiacol well but most sources us 20%+, 3% has no negative effects for me.

To clarify, I didn't mean to heat it up just for it to hold for a few hours. Heat up your oil and bottle it, it SHOULD stay in solution.

Well I believe I insufficiently heated during brewing process. Do you have a roundabout temperature? From what I've read test base has a very high melting point compared to other compounds. That's probably where I made my mistake, as I treated it like most other compounds during the brewing process. Adding raws and solvents and heating until dissolved, then I added the remaining volume in ethyl oleate. Also filtering was a bitch, I attempted to use hydrophobic ptfe syringe filters. I usually brew 500ml at a time using bottle top filters but I figured since I was using ethyl oleate as a carrier it would be thin enough that 250ml wouldn't be a huge hassle. But I was wrong. Popped a bunch of membranes so I eventually threw it in a media bottle until I figured out what to do. Any specific bottle filter you guys use? Assuming it needs to be made of polypropylene due to harsh solvents, and a chemical resistant membrane such as ptfe... not finding definite answers in my many hours of google-ing..

I've looked at a couple of charts; and I remember nylon having the broadest range of chemical resistance related to the things we use. PVDF came in a close second.

I use zap cap CRs which have a glass pre-filter. I posted my recipe and the techniques used to make it in this thread, it works.

Pardon my simpleton question but I am still very green in the bottle top filter area. In looking at the whatman cr filters, I am assuming you are using a nylon .22 but I can't find any that are sold pre-sterilized. How are the filters sterilized so that the oil that is filtered does not get contaminated?

I’ve used the non sterile ones before and no I be died. You have a PM incoming.

Woah, completely missed that. Sorry dude. But let me pick your brain for a minute... doesn't mig have fairly decent solvent properties? Or is it negligible compared to EO. I know it's super thin, and similar to MCT which I know I has solvent properties and I believe I read somewhere it's moreso with mig. I'd rather ask someone with experience than read 10 different opinions on another forum

I don’t think there’s much difference between EO, Mig or MCT. Mig and EO are thinner. I think they’re “solvent” properties are overrated. High concentration stuff is stupid imo.

Guys listen... I'm getting very frustrated, and feeling pretty discouraged. I cannot get this to hold. I dont know what I did wrong I've never had this kind of problem with any other brew I suppose I underestimated the higher difficulty of no ester compounds. Is it possible, that if on my first brewing attempt, I did not get the solution to a high enough temperature, and now it will not hold regardless of what I do? That doesn't seem to make much sense but I'm not denying that as a possibility. I saw 311 F as the melting point of test no ester, raised my solution higher than that, like 350F or so(was smoking like hell) lol kept it there, mixed the hell out of it, let it come down below 250 degrees f, even added 1 more percent of BB, 1 more percent of guaiacol, and 3 more ml of EO so technically its even like 96mg/ml or so to get technical. I let it get to 80 degrees or so then put it in a media bottle to see if it would crash. Dont wanna waste a filter if it'll just crash, to only put it back in my beaker and piss around with it. Can I use GSO to dilute it to 75mg/ml? Do not have enough EO on hand to make that happen. I'm very disappointed and I'm not sure what the issue is. I refuse to ditch the brew though. Thanks in advance for patience with me, I suppose I got cocky in my brewing skills :/

How much guaiacol do you have in the solution all together?

So. Originally, I was to make 100mg/ml. Had 25 grams of raws to make 250ml. Recipe was, 15% guaiacol, 20%bb, 2%ba. Ethyl oleate as carrier. Really dont want to add more solvents, and I'm positive I dont need to and I just screwed up at some point.

If it can be fixed I don't know how. Good luck

Sounds like you put everything in the beaker together? The smoke means the oil/guaiacol started to oxidize, throw it away and start over using my recipe and the process I use. With 15% guaiacol there’s no reason this shouldn’t hold.

It was test no ester not tren right?

Yeah it was test no ester. Lessons have been learned... thank you much bros.

Also yes I put powder and solvents in beaker all at once then heated, then added carrier. Just so no one else makes the same mistake!

View attachment 91185 Ok so found the recipe I used to make the test 100. Oil/BB mix needs to be prewarmed, raws are melted by themselves then oil is slowly added over the course of 45-60 minutes, add BA and guaiacol as the mix cools below 250 and leave mixing for another hour.
