Tore pec?

I would lay off for at least a week and see if it starts to heal. Better to let it heal now rather than it get worse and have to take a longer time off to heal
 
How did it happen? Or when did ya notice it? I've never had a torn pec. I've talked to a few guys that have...they all said they hear a ''pop" and the weight came crashing down on 'em. I don't think you could bench 405 with a torn pec, but I'm doctor.

Doesn't really hurt bad hurts to pres on some can still bench though
I have had a bruised pec three times in my lifting career..kinda like yours...I never had more then just a bad sprain and some bruising ..within a 2 weeks I was right back at it with no strength loss or pain.. from what you explained you were prob lucky like me and never got a real tear
 
I dropped the bar (loaded with 275lbs) on my chest one time and got a bruise similar to yours. Pec was just sore for a few days.
 
If it doesn't hurt when you lift, why not continue training. If it happened without any type of impact you Definately tore some tissue. When I tore my outer quad it bruised bad. But It also hurt so bad I was on cruches for two weeks.
 
Tore my pec in 2003...looked and felt horrible...1 week later it took 50 reps with an empty bar before I could get the bar to touch...10 weeks later I was back to 315 for 3x5...I still have a gruesome looking lump in my pec.........kk
