TRT may help reduce Covid-19 severity.

Anecdotal evidence: catching Covid19 in early 2020 caused a massive hit to my natural testosterone levels, causing it to plummet to ~200. This began several months where I experienced terrible “long covid” symptoms, unlike anything else before.

I had moderately severe COVID-19, but still made a recovery.

So I tried TRT for several months and these long covid symptoms disappeared. I feel slightly recovered, but it’s obviously not 100% yet.

Here’s a scientific article to back up my bro science:

Regarding COVID-19 infection, several recent studies point to an important role for hormones, particularly testosterone, during the acute phase of the illness. It is known that ACE2 is a constitutive product of adult-type Leydig cells, thus implying a role in testicular function and suggesting a possible involvement of testicles in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients, a factor that may affect testosterone secretion. Serum testosterone levels appear adversely affected and may impact on recovery. Testosterone levels therefore should be investigated in men affected by COVID-19.

Several publications where patients have been treated with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) to restore testosterone levels to normal have shown significant reduction in hospitalisation and all-cause mortality, and reversal and prevention of diabetes, and therefore testosterone may have a role in relevant patients with COVID-19.

So the covid-19 virus somehow reduced testicle function and lowered your testosterone levels?

What other long-term effects does this magic virus have?

MY BALLS STILL FUCKING HURT ASSHOLE. STOP COVID-NUT SHAMING. Lol, but seriously… some of us aren’t fortunate enough to come out completely unscathed.

What were your testosterone levels before covid?

1200 natty? Shit man that was pretty good. What are they now?
Right now… bouncing between 200-1200 in the last year. I’m not enjoying it. It’s really fucking me up. Hence why I’m trying a 500mg blast dose then going back on TRT if it can’t stay stable.

As for right now, we’ll know in 4 weeks or so.

That’s actually been suggested, as crazy as it sounds, this virus seems to have whole lot of side effects, one of them even being a weird brain fog that can last days to months to unknown, I suspect I had it some time last year, right before we went into the pandemic, as everyone in my house got a crazy sickness that sounds exactly like the covid, breathing problems and all, and I to this day am suffering some crazy brain fog, can’t remember anything, so very forgetful, so forth. I seen something about the possibility of an already known drug caller ivermectin that’s bing explored as a possibility to alleviate or clear up the so called “long-haul” symptoms.

Yep. Extreme fatigue, brain fog, reduced testicular fortitude, etc. Depends on how many ACE2 receptors this shitty-ass virus can attach itself to, and where.

ACE2 receptors are overly expressed in the testicles, and if you’ve got bigger nuts, expect a bigger attack surface. It may take me years to recover, but if it’s permanent I’m probably going to be forced on TRT for the rest of my life.

Damn that sucks, man. Hopefully you can get over this one, with the right doc and the right treatment. How to deal with the "Long Covid" symptoms still isn't clearly understood by the medical community.

My youngest brother has this and needs supplemental oxygen now, after he spent 10 days in the hospital for Covid this past March. I in comparison got very lucky as I had something akin to a very bad cold for like 4 days last October.

That’s why I’m sort of experimenting on my own body because low test symptoms are ruining my life. TRT got me back to normal-ish. It’s still bouncing, but not as bad. I went off TRT in an effort to see if it helped — not as much as I hoped.

Let us know how this goes...good luck man.

I still have some covid related problems from when I had it a year ago. Mostly that my smell is totally fucked and some things like cooking smell totally off. It kinda freaks me out sometimes thinking how long is that going to last.

Right? Shit still doesn’t taste right.

so you got the flu, and then decided yourself that your test was low? you had a baseline right before? so you then self gave TRT, not from a doctor, then the covid "long hauler" symptoms went away?

this smells like....

@MindlessWork , If you don't mind, can you give more info about your brother? How old, any underlying issues, what kind of physical shape was he in prior to infection. Just my own curiosity, and hope he bounces back. My brother's gf had pretty much the same situation as your brother..She's in her mid 50s tho w some other issues, cancer and diabetes. Same deal, oxygen for a month or so after 8 days in ICU..She seems ok now.

My 47 yr old brother's case was in March of this year and he had really no underlying health conditions and is not exactly fit but he's in decent health. He has recovered since and needed some supplemental oxygen for about 2 months and now uses an inhaler to help his airways.

I’m not his brother but I can share my experience.

Testicular pain, shortness of breath, etc. I ended up in the hospital. I would go out of breath sitting down, moving an arm. Fuck that noise.

No cancer or diabetes. No underlying health issues. I was in moderately decent shape prior to this. It took me more than a year to get my lung function back, but it may be since I’m young I can bounce back faster. Older people might be fucked.

However, I now have (or had) what my doctor suspects to be covid induced hypogonadism. My balls hurt sometimes daily, but it isn’t much. Just a slight ache. My quality of life isn’t where I want it to be (prior to covid), but test gives me a lot of energy, and I’m slowly making a comeback.

My test levels fluctuate. Doctor doesn’t really know why, but we/I believe Covid did this to me.
