It's basically a rig motor if I'm not mistaken, an international motor similar to a big rig. Then they did that powestroke 6.0 which was sub par to that 7.3
Nah class 8 trucks are all inline 6's and displace 12-15L. Make more torque at idle than any other engine at full redline. The 7.3 was great because it was big and there is no replacement for displacement. Larger bore and stroke allow for more easy power to be made. That and it wasnt powerful enough to self destruct itself. My 7.3 godzilla is naturally aspirated and makes similar torque to the old 7.3 diesel, just for reference. Also emissions wasnt around back then so Ford didnt have to worry about pleasing a useless govt branch like the EPA.
