Sounds to me like you are not carrying paper or any relevant experience that would allow you to qualify for a 'normal job' as I call it. Lets take a look at this: store manager at Home Depot....or a cop, both jobs pay middle income salaries and neither require a college education. Frankly, I'd rather see you work 80 hours a week at home depot than to carry a gun and a badge....honestly, because you are 24 and do not appear to have an education which in my opinion means you are not qualified to carry a gun and have control over people. Thats just my honest opinion and it is why I am very skeptical about young people like you driving around in police cars.
I honestly believe, if I am correct in my analysis of your background, that you need to get your ass back in school. Perhaps go back to clerking at HD and slug out an undergrad, then when you are done, take a job in a corporation that will pay tuition and give you a path of upward mobility if YOU rise to the challenge.
You might have heard the term 'paying your dues'...the bottom line is, you need to pay them. Those big dollar IT jobs than any lame ass could score with an engineering technology degree are gone, the sales jobs in growing markets have been taken, times are tough, the strong survive as business continues to evolve. Get the paper, get into the game. When you are 30, you'll begin to reap the fruits of your labor. By 40, you should have a solid, high-paying senior management position, exec thereafter if you are good. Thats reality. I see all these kids living at home earning $ 15-20 bucks an hour driving $40K SUV's and buying up all the bling bling on credit.....they would have been a lot better off buying a 1992 toyota standard cab for 2 grand and taking a job that allows them to maximize their time at school. Education always pays off...it is the greatest investment that one can make by far.
You might not want to hear it but believe me, it is the compassionate side of me that has reached out to you. Think about what I said, take a good hard look in the mirror, and analyze your scenario.
Remember, the geeks always win......I was a geek, abandoned my geek-hood from 26 to 31, and have since evolved back into geekdom......that really flashy motherfucker that gets pussy at will and drives the beamer that he bought on credit will be a tired-looking 40 still driving that same beamer and answering to a geek for a middle-class income years from now.
Trust me, I'm right.
