UV Lights for Labmax

There's been some random talk about them, so I thought I would post some comparisons. For reference here is a $20 Euro note with a Tank 007 TK-566 1W light (yes, I'm getting one).

Note the red threads. These change color as the wavelength gets longer, and disappears completely around 380nm (I have read).

Next I'll post a couple of ultrafire 501's similar to the one on the LM site. I only had a 5eu note, but the same red fluorescing thread is present in that bill. I also included some pharma cyp (200mg/ml) images.

Yea, two "identical" lights, the same model both with fully charged batteries. I hit my image limit, so I'll post the cyp in a minute. In only the top image I could just see the red thread in person, but not with my camera I guess.

Here are the cyp images. A pass for both. And yes, I got X10 TT when I ran this.

Next is a UV395 light, also for reference. There was so little visible light I had trouble getting the camera to focus.

I had a couple more lights, but I gave them away. Wouldn't mind seeing some others on EU notes. Might find a good one cheaper. The reference light is $50!

I worked long time ago on gas station during summer break.

We had UV light to check all the fake money and it was 365 nm.

All the other shit will not show all the security details no notes.

IMO i wouldnt use any light other than the one that labmax uses in their tests. we should try to be as consistent as possible with testing

Note the two identical flashlights like the ones LM sells producing different results. We would all have to share the same light to be consistent.

were the two identical flashlights the ones that came with the kit? or ones bought separately?

for consistency im talking about close as we can, obviously us all mailing around the same light would be a bit crazy ha

It has been working for me, but it doesn't work as well on the EU note as it should. It will be interesting to see what the TK566 shows.

if it does not work on the EU note then it is not 365 nm. Only real 365 would show you all the hidden print.

The ultrafire lights use the same low cost diodes the labmax ultrafire lights use from the same Chinese factory. They all produce a range of UV light in approximately the same band but with variable intensities at different wavelengths. They also all leak different amounts of visible light.

Labmax also sells other UV lights that probably use different leds from different Asian factories with even more variance. To get a more consistent UV light, everyone would need to buy more expensive leds than the ones labmax sells. They sell the ones they do because they are adequate for the task they are intended for - cops verifying they have illegal steroids.

I don't expect everyone to buy an expensive light to run labmax tests. The point of the thread was to demonstrate on a readily available standard (the eu note) the inconsistency of the lights we are using, and to also point out how LITTLE that inconsistency impacts the results. I had to use a 395nm light to get a fail.

ok wait, so let me clarify: you're saying 2 points: 1. light inconsistency and 2. the inconsistency does not impact the result. im a bit confused on whether you're also saying that low quality lights also show a pass?

But it does work on the LM tests, at least the ones I've run with it. It does work on the currency, but not as well. It looks like it is producing a lot of visible light and obscuring the results some.

They are ALL low quality lights.

They are ALL low quality lights.

hm that's interesting, will have to go out and buy a shitty walmart light and try it myself. i would think that the lower quality lights would not show the glow as well, but i have no experience in this myself so i cant say

now what im really interested in is whether or not different carrier oils, BA/BB/EO, and opaqueness affects LM results to a significant degree. would be cool for someone to do an experiment on it

The carrier oils don't affect the UV response.

where's your justification for this? i have no evidence that it does, but i would still love to see some side my side comparisons

edit: im not talking about carrier oil affecting pass/fail, im talking about if it affects color/glow

I know that some of the cheap you buy are 395 nm or 405 nm but they still advertise them as 365 nm,

365 nm is simply expensive. so the sell cheap 395 nm as 365 nm.

I am not sure they might work with some steroids but not with another.

It is like somebody told you to use yellow light but you used red it is not the same.
