VA hospital lab testing

This is exactly why I keep all my shit seperate. Can the VA request records from tricare or access my scripts without consent?
No.... well not legally.... the only thing they can access without your permission are medical records while u were incarcerated or in treatment of some kind... I didn't think that was even possible but the VA has records of both drug treatment programs I went to in 2012

Don't think so. You would have to sign a release of information authorization form/waver.

It is best to keep your service connected disability health issues only with the V.A. and everything else with your primary care physician. Don't mix the two. V.A. Doctors might not care what you take, but the disability review board will.

Even when incarcerated, the only way for the facility to have access to the inmates medical record is for the inmate to sign a release authorization.

Then again,... I'm in CA. It might be different in other states.

I don't know bro I would think it would be the same no matter where you are but who knows.. I just know I struggled with addiction in 2012,2013, ended up getting in some trouble and spent 2 years in prison... the plus is I got clean but the negative was the va had all my records when I got out.. I have a 70% rating and got paid the whole time I was locked up.. Now im just waiting for them to come back and tell me im fucked for 2 years while they recoup what they never should have paid me in the first place..

We all have our demons... we all cope with our struggles differently. I don't think the V.A. will find out you went to prison unless you disclose it. I'm glad you found sobriety and a different outlet to deal with the demons so many of us combat veterans face every day.

My only advise is to deal with the V.A. only and exclusively with service connected disability issues. No more. Don't tell them any more than you have to.

Good luck brother.
