Hey FTW....here is the link for ya. This should be a good one. Last time I saw them together was at Irvine Meadows in 97. Have seen Sammy several times since then. It would be really cool to see Sammys band opening the show with Vic Johnson playing guitar with the Waboritas and then maybe have Eddie and Vic jammin it out later in the show............Peace

Have seen VH several times 5 or 6 times w/ david lee and One with Sammy. Glad to see the VH brothers get there head out of there ass. They think they can stick any singer in there and be good, hope they learned there lesson. They got lucky with Sammy when Roth quit but this last guy sucked........11

Yeah i heard it on radio.Coming to my town ,,,i've seen them 3 times before. 79' backing up boston,,shit they blew them off stage,80 somthing and a few years ago 4 i think they sucked then. This tour outa be killer ;)

I saw them in 78 or 79 they only had the first album out. So they played the whole album, they were back up to Montrose and Jurney.........11

Is Roth on this tour too??

They wil be fighting before they get 1/3 through it. Tour won't make it through the summer lol

i saw them a half dozen times with roth and they fucking rocked each and every time!!! i saw them twice with sammy and they sucked both times. the lineup with roth was much better. the show was better and the material from the roth albums was infinitely better. sammy fucking scream/whines like he's forcing out a shit. can't use it. and i think the songs with sammy are totally lame-ass soft pussy songs. i would never go to see that again, even if it was for free.

now, if they got roth back, i there... :D

Dont think he's with them, and your right they wouldn't make it thru. Roth is a dick but he knows VH was best with him in the band.........11

Roth and Sammy were turing awhile back but they couldn't get along either...........11

Man I can't even believe what I'm reading....Chip did you happen to catch the Sammy and (whats his name?) oh yeah Dave tour last year ?? What the fuck ?? Daves band opened the show and fuckin gimme some ear plugs......granted he was the shit with the original Vanhalen but time has taken its toll........not only vocally but he was trying to do his trademark roundhouse/frontkick combo and almost lost it a few times.......during guitar solos he had one of his roadies holding a cig waiting for him on the side of the stage......yeah I loved the original Vanhalen too but that was then. If you haven't heard Sammys latest live CD you should give it a listen. I think this may have been the straw that broke eddies back.....it features Michael Anthony on a few songs but more importantly the ability of guitarist Vic Johnson to pull off an amazing live performance that will have even fellow guitarists impressed......I think the fact that Sammy has continually been on tour as well as in the studio makes him the better choice for a Vanhalen comeback.........Yes I liked Dave....but trust me on this......get yourself a bottle of Cabo Wabo tequila and head on down......regardless of what you think of Sammy.....there's always eddies solos.......how many more chances will we get to see that in our life ??? Peace Out Bro.....Vegas

lol... can't argue with you about dave being past his prime. i saw him in '95 in vegas doing his 'oldies' review with an orchestra and it was all about the show, definitely not the vocals... and yes, i was thinking old vh when i posted. sammy can definitely sing and he's a good guitarist to boot. but, in terms of albums and songs, i still go for the old school vh. call me a diehard....

Roth is a head case plain and simple..he is a delusional egomaniac... There is no way he could get along with the band long enough to complete a tour..

Damn your bringing back some memories, at least what I can remember. I've seen J. geils more times than I can remember, Outlaws 3 or 4 times, green grass and high tides always ended the show. You could get a ticket for 8 bucks and see 3 or 4 good bands. Every summer we'd drive up to Cleveland for the world series of rock, and there would be 5-6 bands.....11

Damn you guys are showing your age........Ok I'll admit...I saw Montrose open for Deep Purple.....I think I was 14 or 15........I think Sammy was about 18 then......flashback........Peace..........I've got Sammy live on the CD as we speak........

Yeah, but that was the real Van Halen. Van Hagar has been bad for both parties. Sammy's songs, like "Three lock box" and "Dick in the Dirt" are much better than any of that schlock that he's done with Van Halen.

At least when David Lee was around, they were doing some wicked stuff like "On Fire" and all of the "Fair Warning" album. I engaged in some torrid romancing in high school while that album was playing. Damn that was a nice chick.

Shit, I'm getting wistful.
