VanHalen (W/Sammy) On Tour

Ok I'm a big Vanhalen fan from way back but check this out.....If you did not get tickets yet (which went on sale early april) this is what you can expect to get raped for.....What the fuck ???? I know these guys are for profit but come on gimme a fuckin break.....do you think the band will see any of this ?? Don't think so !!!....And it's not for just this band only.....What ?? Does Exxon (The most profitable company in the world) control all ticket sales now ?? It's not even a supply and demand issue because these polesmokers buy up everything in site at the release date.....Yeah I'm pissed........whats next ???...... Peace.....Vegas

LOL....I saw J. Geils with ummm, shit, I forgot who opened for them but it was not The Tubes....somebody like that.....in Providence, RI I think....I dont remember, we had to go across a bridge to get there. I was a very wee lad at the time.

I think David Lee Roth was on the last episode of the sopranos.....man, age and long hair do not work....somebody needs to clue that guy in. He looks like shit.

Sammy on the other hand is what? well into his 50's and looks none the worse for wear.

The Van Halen album that I remember from recent past that I am most fond of was the one with judgement day and that odd solo with Michael Anthony...I think it was a live album. After that, we went into the 'Woa-oh' stage with Sammy and I kinda just fell out of it at that point.

As far as Boston, I was far too young to go see them however, I remember that whole 'boogy band' thing...talk about a screamer, that guy's voice can get annoying very quickly.

I still think Stevie Nicks is hot even though she's old and has a fat ass....I'd probably still throw her a courteousy poon :D

Christ, I'm suprised no one has mentioned Foreigner yet. They were another old school rock and roller band......

I'll bet half of you had a 1971 camaro jacked up 3 feet in the back riding on cragars at one point or another in your lives.

BTW - I can totally envision David Lee Roth heading to the side of the stage to suck on a grit during a show.....probably had himself a cocktail waiting over there too.

LOL....but doesnt it just feel slightly uncomfortable? I mean, to me, its like seeing a dice clay show in the late 90's vs the 80s when he was in his hey-day. Something is just missing...the age is setting in...its just not funny anymore....same with music. GBH still tours the little punk rock shitholes around town and I pondered taking in a show but when I saw the recent pics of Colin and Jock, they are tired old men now.....play a set, time for a beer and a grit....like they were zonked from playing for a half hour....I just, I dunno, I prefer to remember them in their glory days. Its like watching Ken Shamrock or Mark Coleman fight today....they are done, and its better off to just enjoy the memory rather than to see them at less than their prime.

I saw that, too. Long hair hiding a bald spot and old age definitely don't mix, but he was perfect for the VH brothers back in their day.

I still think Asia will the "The Supergroup of the 80s".
Anyone remember that hype? :D

Well I had a 69. and a 74. camaro, no cragars. in my 69 I had house speakers in the back seat you could hear me coming half mile away.......11

Ok...you guys can rag all you want......did you read my last post ?? If you are not a VH fan thats cool too. You can always join the majority rules fan club of whatever MTV TRL pushes today you just might buy senario....but I have to disagree if you think that Sammy/Vanhalen is a washed up has been entity. Not only has Sammy been at the forefront of the modern rock era (Montrose) but has continued to write/produce hit songs = money for record labels....and then to front one of the greatest live bands in the USA. I expect that Tony Robbins will be calling Sammy when he does his "How to make it as a rocker in america" tour.......Peace Out Bro's....
