ventrogluteal - the sweet spot

Okay, just for educational reasons, I'm going to post these hand-made pics of exactly where the ventrogluteal muscle is. It's right on your side under the hip bone (iliac crest) and a hand-span above the hip joint (trochanter). If you press there with your hand you can feel the soft tissue muscle give, so you know it ain't hip-bone.

There's been postings asking just where this ventrogluteal sweet spot for injection is and complaining that the pics from online were no help, so I'm offering my old body as a clear direction. I have a 1.5 inch 23 g needle going in right to the hilt. Easily. No pain. No soreness later.

Okay?

Ouch! Next thing I'll hear is questions about why I used duct tape to hold a cushion on my desk chair.:o

This is actually my favorite injection site.

A picture might help those who are trying to find it:

You can easily locate the "antrerior superior iliac spine" by finding the bony protrusion on the front side of your hip. To find the greater trochanter (where your thigh bone connects to your hip), it helps to lift your knee up and down while you put pressure on the side of your hip/upper leg. You know you've gone too high you stop feeling it move under your hand. Drop back down a little where you can feel it moving and that's the greater trochanter. The injection site is going to be a few inches right above the greater trochanter, close to the height of the "antrerior superior iliac spine."

That scares the shit out of me. Cause I'm just getting started and I have plenty of body hair!!!!!1[:o)] I will have to add that was very classy of you not to add a touch of cock when the opportunity so well presented. Or were you touching it....[:o)] OK Seeriously, Jasup tried teaching us that shot couple years back. That bastard had me thinking that I was looking for something in the groin area. I will add very nice photos from Conciliator. You are worth more than pissing on after all... Youknow I care for ya. Turns out I was shooting the ventro the whole time. Just lazy day when I was feeling around for some muscles and found that one. I would like to point out that I have a very wide stance and I believe this is why this muscle was so pronounced that I found it on my own.

You know I had absolutely no body hair until I did my first steroids.

(Quotation for the scare press?)

Hope somebody is learning something here!

Amusing comments aside, nice post solo! I'm curious as to what was in the syringe at the time of injection....

Simple basic advanced: 1 cc Test enanthate (400 mg/ml), 1 cc EQ (300 mg/ml). 2x EW. Be adding 1 cc of Tren enanthate (100 mg/ml) to each injection in a couple more weeks, just for spice.:D

Maybe I'm paranoid, well, I couldn't be, I've shot calves before, not recomended. Butt, pun intended, just how close is that to the siatic nerve?

The ventrogluteal site is further away from the sciatic nerve than a typical dorsogluteal (butt) shot. It's the primary site nurses use for intramuscular injections, since it's safer. Somce nursing schools don't even teach the dorsogluteal anymorer. The ventrogluteal avoids all major nerves and blood vessels.
