This thread is older but only by a couple of months so I feel like maybe it is not too late.
I would say double on the vacuum filters vs syringe filters but I would SCREAM don't go get a hand pump vacuum pump. Spend the forty bucks on the little simple basic electric vacuum pump. Trust me on this, hand pumping a brake bleeder to vacuum a bottle top filter for something like 100mls of test c 300 will take you hours possibly depending on carrier oil used. You will end up doing batches of 100-120 mls because that is the smallest rating for the expensive but necessary bottle top vacuum filters.
Also I would urge you to get a magnetic stirring hotplate. The entry level ones are around 50-60 usd last time I checked. They let you set a temp and it automatically stirs at varying speeds that you control. They just have a knob(s) to turn up or down the temp or rotation speed.
Regardless of what you read online you will need to heat AND STIR every hormone for at least 45 minutes to make a good brew that doesn't hurt. The temps do vary a little bit they all need to be over the boiling temperature of water simply to guarantee sterility. And no you will not damage the hormone, any common carrier or organic solvent simply heating the brew of any hormone to the boiling temperature of water and slightly above.
Just fyi the common carrierT hat does boil / burn off at the lowest temperature is ethyl Oleate at above 200 Celsius, it leaves the brew a burnt brown color around this temp. Benzyl benzoate, benzyl alcohol and every common carrier oil is good well past that temp. I think benzyl alcohol boils off around 200-210. If you want to know look at smoke point temperature or boiling temperature of the given compound.
My last thing I would share is about the vials. I personally don't trust myself to clean out and process an open sterile vial here in my dusty state. I get the pre sterilized and sealed vials. For a personal level brewer they do the trick.
I hope this response is not too late. Even if you have made one brew, you will make another most likely. Best of luck.
