What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

@Ripped --I never liked it much either until I had it done correctly with lots of fresh sliced fish . It has no fishy taste whatsoever when prepaired right. The generic sushi has turned off alot of people , smells like my ex's you know...
That was exactly my experience tasted like I caught a fish and took a bite out of it real fishy.

If fish smells or tastes fishy it's not fresh. The only fish that should smell or taste fishy is mackrel. Most fish that is used for sushi these days (In North America that is) is fileted, vacuum packed, and flash frozen on the boat when it's caught so when it's thawed and taken out of the vacuum pouch it's really like it was just caught. That has no fishy smell or taste. If you get sushi and it smells like fish...don't eat it. That needs to be cooked to ensure the bacteria ( what causes the fishy smell) is killed. A friend of mine in the food biz told me that all fish that is sold in the grocery store, even the fish in the seafood department glass displays that says fresh, has been frozen and thawed. It's all bullshit lies. When you buy orange roughy it's not orange roughy, it's monk fish because they taste similar and monk fish is way way less expensive. There is another fish that they lie about what it is as well but I can't remember which one it is. Also, don't get white tuna when you are eating sushi. There is no such thing as white tuna. It's some bottom dwelling fish called Escolar that has a particular oil in it's meat that is not good for you. It can cause a digestive problem that will cause anal oil leakage  called Keriorrhea. Remember Olestra? Not cool.

All the fish used in his sushi is local Oregon Coast catch (you can see it). The tuna , the salmon and the crab thats in the center of the avocado pieces are all same week caught & prepaired . I could go broke eating this sushi...:)

Yellowtail and albacore is white tuna. We catch it ever year and make sashimi out of it. 100% agree with everything else though.
