I have a Himalayan salt block heated to 500 Degrees in the oven. I cook it 10 minutes on each side take it out let it rest for five minutes and that is pretty rare. 13 minutes each side and a 5 minute rest is medium rare xcetera

It's totally different, it's called French style because the French cook their meats in a pan and finish in the oven. I like cooking it on a salt block instead of a pan because you get a little bit of season on the meat that way.
