what was your age, and how long have you been on?

also...have you ever needed to come off, and what was the result(s) of this?

ill start...

TRT-age 27, on for 3-4 weeks now

First symptoms at age 62. Started TRT at age 63. Now almost 65. Androgel and then Testim. No intention of coming off TRT at my age.

37. Started fighting the slowing down of age at 35. If I wanted the ultra active lifestyle I had to go on TRT. If I wanted to slow down and grow old gracefully I could have cut down on my activity.

56, but 60 now

taking androgel daily

love it!!! libido is great, strength is very good, erections are good (but not great)

not coming off testosterone if I can help it!

I think this thread can be made into a full blown survey and subsequent publication. There are many questions that males would want to know. What was the TRT? Did you quit TRT? Etc...

What do you think?

If yes, I will ask Millard.

Feel free to pose potential questions.

That would be useful. My list (repeating most, perhaps all):

When (age) did you first notice symptoms?
When (age) did you first start TRT?
What is your age now?
What did you try first?
Did you think the results were good?
What are you on now?
What is your current dose?
Did you ever go off TRT?
What were the results of going off?

Perhaps too many questions, but just my thoughts. You could also ask about estradiol levels and how you control them, but that gets complicated.

When (age) did you first notice symptoms? 15
When (age) did you first start TRT? Didnt get a doc to prescribe until 23
What is your age now? 23
What did you try first? shots
Did you think the results were good? eh, needed 200mg a week in the ass and had to go to the doc to get, soooo not goood enough for the effort.
What are you on now? Compounded cream
What is your current dose? 15mg/ a day
Did you ever go off TRT? no
What were the results of going off?

Answer some questions - pose some NEW questions!

I am being very serious about this survey and publication. If you have an interest in assisting and coauthoring, let me know. The plan is to publish in a peer-reviewed journal available on PubMed. Please PM (Title: Survey & Publication) me so I can keep track. I expect the project to be ~3 months.

When (age) did you first notice symptoms? 24
When (age) did you first start TRT? 26 for real TRT
What is your age now? 27
What did you try first? test cyp/injections
Did you think the results were good? great feeling, better body image and positive physique changes
What are you on now? test cyp
What is your current dose? 200mg a week
Did you ever go off TRT? yes
What were the results of going off: felt fine for 1-2 months, crashed at about month 2-3. VERY low sex drive and interest in sex. poor gym preformance

When (age) did you first notice symptoms? Age 36 to 37. I am 6'4 was 280lbs

When (age) did you first start TRT? Age 38. My T levels (can't remember the exact number) were in 120's or 130's (very low).

What is your age now? 40 years old. Doing TRT lowered my HDL, Triglycerides, and even improved both Systolic and Diastolic noticeably. I can't tell you enough how much my health has improved, and how convinced I am that low T levels for a male can be as much a health risk as too high of levels.

What did you try first? Androgel Pump. Started at 4 pumps daily for a month, then 6 for 6 months, and finally 8 pumps daily for 5 months. I quit Androgel because the cost was prohibitive (about 600 dollars a month and my insurance wouldn't cover it). Decision was to go to Shots (60 dollars for a 10ml vial 200mg/ml - I pay for it myself).

Did you think the results were good? Very good - changed my life for the better.

What are you on now? Testosterone Cypionate

What is your current dose? 200 mg/week. I went to 100 mg bi-weekly for a few months but didn't notice much of a difference from just 200mg weekly.

Did you ever go off TRT? No, but when I went to T shots my doctor very conservatively game me 200 mg for the entire month. Side effects were very noticeable.

What were the results of going off? Skin became red and hot and joints achy. Felt depressed. Loss of sex response and sex drive. Eventually my dosages were increased to what they are now with excellent results.

Just wondering, on that dose do you require an AI?

I guess I should answer my own questions.

When (age) did you first notice symptoms? 62
When (age) did you first start TRT? 63
What is your age now? 64 (65 next month)
What did you try first? Androgel - 5 gm
Did you think the results were good? no - only slight improvement
What are you on now? Testim
What is your current dose? 10 gm
Did you ever go off TRT? no
What were the results of going off?

I guess there should be another question: How is it working now? Mostly good - occasional slight ED. Libido good, but not what it was when I was in my 50s. Strength back up to what it was 5 years ago.

Dr. Scally, I would love to co-author and get a publication. I could help with the literature review. I PM you 30min ago so please let me know if I can help on this project, thanks!

I haven't ever used one. My doctor just kept a close eye on my progress. Everything we did always was extremely conservative and moved up from there. I haven't noticed any issues with thinning hair or any breast soreness. With my T shots I have been on 200 mg/week for over a year now without problem or concern.

However, I would think breaking up the monthly dosage to many smaller dosages probably helps with problems I could have potentially had. At least that has been what I understand, and appears to be correct. Also, my dosage a month I still think that is pretty safe for my height/weight. Anything above that though my doctor expressed he would be more concerned about using an AI. Hope that info helps.

I can assist but don't know a thing about publication. We should also include:

1. Dosage
2. Test delivery
3. If an anti-estrogen is used
4. Past steriod use if any?
5. Any present anabolic use (Cycle) and for what reason? (Deca for joint pain/ more test for size)
6. results (physically and mentally)
7. Copies of any prior and after blood work (really help to prove that testosterone is not a killer

Just to name a few.

ill start...

TRT-age 27, on for 3-4 weeks now
I started at 45 using Androgel.Today I'm 62 & use T cypionate (120mgs) wkky.
My recent physical blood work shows my LDL is good, liver enzymes good.Lifes good ️

When (age) did you first notice symptoms? Forever? Delayed puberty, very little body hair, little drive in life, getting injured very easily and being very weak.
When (age) did you first start TRT? 19
What is your age now? 20
What did you try first? 140mg test E
Did you think the results were good? Yes, big difference
What are you on now? 125 test C / week
What is your current dose? 125mg/week EOD
Did you ever go off TRT? no, but I'll probably have to when I decide to have kids. Also planning to lower the dose as a age.
Besides t curing my anemia, after and before bloods look the same (health values). I don't use AI, but I'm jumping on finasteride soon.
No AAS before TRT.

Results: mental differences it's hard to explain and to tell, because the differences are not from a day to another. But the most noticeable is being more driven to trying to change things I don't like about myself and improved confidence.
Physical results: gained strength at the start very fast, ability to gain muscle easily, my muscles look and feel harder. Fat loss without changing diet. Body hair growth, facial hair growth, and annoying ass and back hair. Facial structure changes. Joints are much stronger.
