Current Max
Bench - 380 lbs
Squat - 495 lbs
Dead - 495 lbs
Leg Press - 1,400 lbs
Curl - 195 lbs

Are these good stats for a body builder? or as body builders are we only concerned with how we look?

what ratios should we have? for example should your bench max be half of your squat max?

peace,

I don't really keep up with my 1RM...I know last July I benched 385 for 3 full reps and 2 assisted...that's as detailed as I can remember.

Yeah I just got curious this last week and it had been years since I had tried max, so I thought I'd see where I was at.

That's a good bench bigrobbie, prob at least puts you at 420 lbs. Which, by the way, was like the number one or number two highest bench on the football team at my university. that's the year Jon Kitna took us to the championships.

Not trying to shoot you down...I know alot of bro's who record their 1RM...just not my thing...didn't mean to seem like you didn't start a legit thread...your numbers are solid too!

I HAVE used a 1RM a couple yrs ago to determine how much I was behind in my squats...it wasn't pretty....I really have lost alot of free weight knee and hip dominant strength since my back surgery.

I haven't maxed out in a very long time but I do generally lift heavy, depending on the bodypart. I have discovered thought that stretching the fascia is equally important (if not more important) than just lifing heavy.

Heavy weights add thickness and density but stretching the fascia and getting pumps so painful you think you will explode, built muscle mass and definition.

The latest lifts i remember were: 176lbs barbell curl, 330 Incline Bench press for 5 good reps, 310lbs barbell row for 6 or 8 reps with good form and 245lbs close grip bench press for triceps.

You lifts are very good btw!

330 incline for 5 reps is sick bro...so is upright row at 310 at that many reps. I think that I need to start hitting the barbell rows.

I try to mix it up where i lift heavy then high rep every other time. so if i work bycepts I will do cheat curls with the bench bar and couple hundred lbs and I think it tears me up way more than if I get a good pump. then on my next bycept day I will do 150 - 200 reps and go down to like the 15 lb dumbells LOL. Some days I will start heavy and then go high rep...not sure where I get the best results and if I had to guess it is on the days where I start heavy and then go for the pump with light weight and high reps. ending up basically lifting almost no weight and just flexing.

is it possible that this is overtraining?

i did not think that at all no worries. i guess i was more interested (now that i think about it) in knowing if it makes a difference how much one exercise compares to another.. like your squat should be more than bench...but how much more? or if everyone is just different and it's all about how you look....

I'm way off balance with my squat to bench ratio (for lack of a better phrase) due to a lower lumbar injury...I prefer the leg press for big weight and keep my squats lighter...it hurts my back to squat too much weight.
