When did shoulders being larger than pecs become in?

You also got to rem, Arnold says he was introduced to steroids at 15 (or 16 I can't rem), so by that point he would of been using them for 20 years. 20 years of lifting and a moderate steroid dose would produce his results. Especially when you consider he trained 6 days on, 1 day off, for all of off season, and on pre-contest, double training a day (5+ hours) 6 days on, 1 day off.

I also think body builders of his generation worked a lot harder at it, than todays build a drug body builders.

^^ 100% Agreed with that..2-a-days with disgusting volume certainly puts to shame a lot of peoples workouts even now.

Not a fan of boulder shoulders with no chest and distended guts. I dont' care what people say about put on 50lbs the gut grows I believe it's bullshit.

I'm not that big but I've gained 50lbs+ since when I started lifting. I can say my waist is 5.25 inches smaller then when I started. So I don't believe it's weight gain, it's GH or insulin because these pros are certainly way leaner then me.

So what was your waist size when you started? Did you lose adipose? If you lost 5.25 it must have been a bit of that.

I'm getting a bit fat at the moment (well at the midsection area only), dbol makes me eat everything in sight. I need to fit in some cardio, but I work out in the sun all day (and it's fucking hot right now) and 2+ hours in the gym 6 days a week, so I haven't found the motivation to do cardio. My waist is somewhere around 32-34 atm, depending on the time of day.

I just switched from HIIT to volume training this year, as I'm tired of just shredding and I really wanted to focus on mass this year, which I haven't been able to really achieve with HIIT. But in all honesty, I probably wasn't eating enough during HIIT to induce lots of growth. Last 4 years have been HIIT.

My waist started at 32 I was what you would call skinny fat I guess. My stomach didn't really stick out but definitely had pug. You would notice it when I would sit big time. Now my stomach goes inward so I'm guessing I had a bunch of fat around my organs I didn't exactly eat healthy before taking exercise seriously. This has been about a 7 year process, I orginally bulked for 2 years had a went up 85lbs then had a 37.5 inch gut have no clue how to diet ended up sucking down fast and hard lost mostly everything. Now I take everything slow and write numbers down weekly.

I don't think people would have a smaller waist when they gain 50lbs I'm an exception in this regard since my bodyfat wasn't that low. I see people having a waist ruffly the same unless they have a high body fat. However, I don't see how ones gut growing that much with weight gain alone unless it's fat, the ab muscle are small and the lower back might grow in thickness but nothing dramatic, no more then an inch if your a massive guy.

Mine only sticks out after I eat LOL.

At any rate, I concur, no way 50 lbs alone (I've gained 25 this year so far, and I've added maybe an inch, inch & 1/2 to my waist) distributed over the body would cause a distended stomach.

Even with the extra padding I've gained by bulking this year, my stomach does not stick out further than my pecs...

It is extremely difficult to obtain a 260lb+ figure under the height of 6 ft without some sort of distended abdomen appearance.

I can imagine. I'm just saying this is bodybuilding it's about size and aesthetics at least it used to be. It's also close to impossible probably to be competition lean above 260lb+ without GH/Insulin or a combination of both.

This is a sport of extreme but sacrificing aesthetics for poor quality mass needs to be put in check. This is why Phil Heath always beats Kai. I wish Kai would win as I like him as a bodybuilder more but it isn't reality unless he tames that gut and works on balancing himself rather then playing the size game he has more then enough mass already.
