Where's all my military brothers

Tbh I was thinking of doing the green to gold program. If I'm staying, I'm done being a grunt. Fuck mopping and sweeping. I'd rather be like this captain I know, with his audi , doesn't do pt, does computer shit at work, goes and lifts and calls it a day. The guy practically rubs it in my face hahah. All in good fun though, he just does it to show me how good the dark side can be.
Don't ever listen to "it's tough out here". Almost everyone I know is making at least double than they were on active duty.

Definitely do Green to Gold. Not sure what rank you are. But if go soldier/NCO of the month boards and win them, you will make some great networks. Colonels, Generals. You can ask for recommendations from Colonels and if you get far enough you can speak with a general with a direct select slot to OCS.

You have lots of options now that your window to reenlist is open. You can request for the school option. Where they allow you six months to just go to school. All you have to do is report in the morning. If this is still being offered.

Or go ranger of SF. Both great communities and there is a lot of downtime when back state side. All they is Or for the most part. PT two three times a day. One of those sessions is usually weight training.

The SF community lots of free time until it's time to deploy.

Don't get out until you retire bro. Or until you make enough connections that you can reach out to for references.

I spent one year just networking. Paid off for me.

Nobody here gives a shit how much you squat, and I'd be willing to bet that's a made up number anyhow. Read just a few posts in here and you can clearly see what the thread is about so save the "am I in the club" BS for some other thread you puke all over.

At least it is no longer a personal attack, no worries, in any case it was a rhetorical question, it was not about the squat itself.

Sure absolutely
But in the military they pay for your housing and healthcare
The two biggest expenses these days. ESPECIALLY health care
Then you realize double pay is actually EQUAL

I guess it's because they're the US Army. Those guys looks like they got out of the universal soldier movie. Instead, here are military out of shape lol

Yeah I'm E4 I want to make at least E5 by next year. 5 in 3 is the goal. I'm currently stationed right next to a sf unit and talk to them a lot. They are the coolest fuckin people, there always asking me for gear lmao. I don't think i can handle the running, I'm currently having feet problems and can't run no more then 3 miles a week without pain.

I'll keep in mind the connections, I already have a few from having the rep of being strong and doing powerlifting comps.

This. I've been on and off with this 37 year old Brazilian Milf and she def opened my eyes to some things I take for granted because I'm young and dumb lol.

This is very true. If you retire with disability. You keep all your benefits. Tricare will be a little more but still cheap. I pay $136 every 3 months for my wife and soon to be 5 kids. Dental is only 125 a month. If we went with insurance through my wife's corporation it would be $500 a month. Healthcare is expensive bro.

If you can't do SF at least make lifelong connections with them. Go to every board you can go to and win. Rub shoulders with the Colonels and Generals. No need to kiss ass. There is a fine line between networking to get yourself set up. Keep us posted bro. And if there is anything you need to discuss about the military in private I have lots of knowledge, You can PM me. I am sure there are others here that have similar or more knowledge.

Just depends on where you work. I'm in a trade job and pay like 220$ a month for medical, dental, and vision for my family. I did have a while where I didn't have insurance after getting off of active duty but it was only like a year. If guys get out with a plan and stick to it there is a lot more money to be made. Hell I got out and 3 months later went back downrange as a contractor making well over 100k.

I pay(ed) 10k a year for my families health insurance. That was just the weekly costs. Add in copays and uncovered items and its alot more. That is the reality of alot of folks health plans post obama care. I had to drop it due to being completely unreasonable.

Damn that's a lot of loot. When I worked for a local municipality they wanted $1100 a month for just the wife and kids. Needless to say we didn't have insurance when I worked there. Got into a new trade and the benefits are great.

That is the key. To plan at least a year out.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I'm also looking into switching moses.. something more medical or something where I'm not in the field every damn month. Would love to just focus on myself.

I feel you plan on making it a career just be sure you check what the Sgt and ssg promotion points look like. Don't get stuck in an mos that stays at 798 (I've been out several years now).

Everyone wants to be infantry till they realize it doesnt prepare you for penis in the real world
Lots of guys parlay skills learned in the military to profitable pursuits in the private sector

If you want to be a grunt matters well take the all the way. Go SF, Seal, Recon, PJ's. Then you will be able to parlay those skills in places like Swat, FBI, CIA. Or contract work.

What was mentioned by @gr8whitetrukker is the gospel. So many youngsters want to be infantry because they think it's cool. It's not what is seen on TV.
