Nope. I was an aviation electronics technician, AT, with further training to work in the calibration lab.

I didn't know it when I enlisted, but somehow I was put in the TAR program. I was active duty and went to work, stood watch, etc 5 days a week, but also worked weekends when the reservists came to drill.

It's a steady paycheck in the meantime though. If you're happy there and can stick it out for as long as it takes to get that degree then go for it bro, the job market is tough right now. If you can ETS with a degree you'll be setting yourself up for success

Tbh I was thinking of doing the green to gold program. If I'm staying, I'm done being a grunt. Fuck mopping and sweeping. I'd rather be like this captain I know, with his audi , doesn't do pt, does computer shit at work, goes and lifts and calls it a day. The guy practically rubs it in my face hahah. All in good fun though, he just does it to show me how good the dark side can be.
