4 years ago dislocated my shoulder in a wrestling match in highschool... the trainer there told me it was ok so i went to some physical therapy and it never healed obviously.. i've always had bad pain with it and it slides out of socket fairly easily... but i've goten so used to the pain i didnt realize how bad it was
so last week i go to get it checked out again (4 years later after alot of doctor appointments and what not) and i got an MRI and arthrogram (where they inject a dye into the joint to help see in the MRI)...
it turns out i have had a very large labral tear in my left shoulder and its close to bein torn completly.. my only option is surgery...

the doc is the best in town but he says i'll be in a sling for 3 weeks... wont get full rotation for 2 months.. and wont be doing any form of heavy lifting for 4-6 months... i wont have the surgery till this summer... so i can finish this semester..

pretty depressing especially when i'm training for the collegiate nationals...

thanks thick.. yeh i posted about it a while back...

the surgery is May 12...

i'm still able to lift right now but there is alot of pain... i can barely do any pressing movements... and no militarys... i do pushups for chest and was barely able to do 75lb dumbells for incline for 12 without my shoulder startin to slide ( used to use 105)

i'm definatly not lookin forward to it.. at all.. the doc said i can only do leg press/leg extensions... and sittiing calf shit for a long while...

i'm probbaly goin to take hogg's advice and train my right side with lihgt lateral raises/curls/pushdowns hopefully so my left side wont atrophy as much...

i also have a chiropractor/bodybuilder friend who is willing to give me free laser therapy to speed recovery 3 2-3 times a week... supposed to speed recover 30%...

a friend of mine had the same operation done that i'm getting "arthroscope" and its taken him around 9 months after the surgery to get back where he was... but he says now its so much easier to train hard without the pain of his laggin shoulder.. so that was good to hear...
