WKM's working sources for free gear behind the scenes

So you know, we can still be friends. Just let me know if and when you'd like to move on.
What? You ask GWT IF HE WANTS TO BE FRIENDS AND MOVE ON?

Member sinse April 2017? At this point asshole you should be reading more than posting. Please do.

@gr8whitetrukker

So you know, we can still be friends. Just let me know if and when you'd like to move on. Seriously, I fuck around but I'm not trying to have a internet feud. So my apologies for any disparaging comments I've made, they were irrelevant to the point I was trying to make. I won't turn back on what I said about outing the annoying, though i do concede the noob scandal was an attempted scam/fraud.

Anyway, gotta get in the gym. It's leg day and I need to get bigger Lol btw I'm 197 as of this morning. Getting there!

For the love of god, just leave. Why does these guys insist on a big send off or a long drawn out good-bye? Just fuking leave and dont come back, no body gives a shit. Period.

2) Leveling titles will successfully close such a vulnerability in the Meso community, and not simply move it (to join date, post count, likes, etc)

The only thing leveling tites accomplished was pissing off people that care about titles; took away the incentive to contribute from members that wanted to move up; and made it more difficult for me - and I suspect many others - to figure out who is who.

Millard says it's a work in progress, but it's been going on forever and there hasn't been any progress. So it might be more accurate to call it a work at halt.

I think these are valid concerns. As I always ask: knowing these costs, is the proposed remedy of leveling titles warranted?

I don't know a lot of these guys. Remember, I haven't been around much for the last year and a lot of new members have joined during that time. Having the option of looking at their title, flawed as was, was nice and quick way of figuring out who is who without having to spend time looking at their post history. It has nothing to do with hierarchies, it's just a way of identifying members.

Like I said before, the system wasn't perfect but doing away with titles altogether was a case of throwing out the baby with the bathwater. The problem has always been the low threshold to achieve WKM status, and that should have been corrected years ago. Instead, @Millard Baker decided to wash his hands of the whole thing and meso is the lesser for it, IMO.

Millard did not wash his hands of it. The last thing he said in reference to this was:

It's a work in progress. It's broken at the moment.

You said it yourself, the problem was the low standard to achieve wkm, so if it's that easy I'm not sure how using the title to identify anyone makes sense?

I could achieve wkm by never leaving the food thread, that doesn't mean I'm any easier to identify... Other than maybe being a fat boy. :)

Why dont we just raise the amount of likes it takes to gain these titles. If 1000 likes makes you a wkm, change it to 3,000, etc. same system, just higher standards

It's been a "work in progress" ever since the switch to Xenforo. But if there's been no progress, it isn't really a work in progress, is it? It's just a work unfinished.

It's been what, 3 years since the switch? If it hasn't been fixed by now it ain't gonna.

All I can tell you is take some time off and then come back. With the exception of about a dozen or so older members, everyone else looks like a bunch of clones. I hate it. I can only imagine how confusing it is for new members.

I have never seen it referenced as a work in progress before... But, with that said, it was addressed before. The standard to achieve wkm and awesome status was increased a while ago, two years maybe... Albeit not enough for some members apparently.

Simply raising the bar to achieve the status isn't going to do THAT much... Again, I can sit in a thread and crack jokes and achieve a high status relatively quickly. You would need some kind of algorithm that recognizes informative and valuable posts, which doesn't exist... I've seen no forum that's been able to achieve anything like this other than a private forum that has mods that determine who is important enough to be given a "status".

Perhaps... I personally don't think that a status would help me. Nothing against you though, it just wouldn't be what helped me I don't think. I probably wouldn't have noticed the change to everyone being members if I wasn't following this thread.

All of that is true but at least the members get to decide. It's like the old maxim about democracy being the worst form of government... except for all the others.

It'll never be a perfect system but adjusting the criteria for WKM (>likes + >TIME + >posts) will go a long way towards improving it and it will be far better than what we have at the moment.

Millard did that before and it didn't really have much affect...

But again, what does it really prove? I could sit in the food thread or jump through the underground being a smartass and get likes left and right. Doesn't make me a valuable member.

A title system if for fun... That's about it. We just have to recognize good posts from bad posts rather than who the posts are coming from in the first place.

The only title I like is the junior one because then I can recognize whose new to the forum... Other than that, I don't see it as anything more than fun having earned a new title.

Its a bit off topic but when this guy told me he wanted a cycle for himself and he was a WKM, I was also worried that he could talk shit about me if I didnt send him stuff. Its kind of compulsing to demand stuff, its very good that they are being taken care of.
