Worf's 1st meet log

PR or ER, Meet time. I have some personal numbers I’m after and a couple state records Im after. The personal numbers should be achievable this meet. The state records might take another year or so. All as long as my body can take it

Absolutely true. I definitely have some new challenges ahead of me. My knee maybe on the way to recovery my BW is becoming an issue. I definitely need to start loosing some bf, Maint a lower Bw without loosing muscle/strength. Definitely a hurdle greater than just throwing weight on the bar. To continue making these rapid improvements while dieting isn’t going to happen. At some point trying to maintain a lower body weight is going to be a bigger obstacle than it is now. I don’t think trying to cut during a prep will continue to work for me later on.

I agree, and couldnt imagine how tough it is for you guys that compete. I know I too struggle with it, putting weight on now since I started my drol and while numbers going up, I know the going to drop as soon as I decide to drop the BF again. Got to be a better to maintain a semi steady BF and still be able to keep adding weight to the bar.

CNS was totally fried from the heavy squats and strongman work. So I shot some test base 2 hours before training, just 50mg. I wanted to see how it felt. Gave me a little boost but nothing crazy, about the same as 5 mg halo. I think for a PR or if I plan on a crazy training session 100mg is probably good.

Kind of a deload here. CNS is beat up. Pushed some HEAVY singles the past few weeks on Bench and squat a Deadlift PR, plus overload on bench with the slingshot and the chains past week. Needless to say I’m a little beat up. Bicep/shoulder is sore from squats. Well hell, it’s a meet prep not a Pilates class, shits supposed to be hard. Wanted to do a conditioning movement that carried over to deadlift and the tires were it. Tires were heavier than I thought but I just went with it. Felt good to get some squats in since I hadn’t squatted for over a week and felt rust when I was squatting in wraps this past Saturday. Looking to dissipate fatigue during this week for this weekend and pull something heavy.

Got some good PRs going alright. Means you got the training, diet, sleep and drugs on point. Good job man. I used to PL. Won't lie. Reading this thread and btcowboy makes me want to do it again haha. Not sure if the body will like it though. But my ego sure will

It’s getting harder and harder if I want to stay in my weight class.

Hands are tore up from the sledgehammer stuff the other day. Wagon wheel dead’s were brutal. The starting point with the wheels is high enough for me to pretty much remove all leg drive. So that was fun. Started getting the hang of it by the last set. Shot 100mg of test base this morning, probably the only thing that got me through the workout, lol

It’s getting harder and harder if I want to stay in my weight class.

Eating can suck sometimes alright. I never understood eat through the pain until I tried bulking up to 260 solid. i hit 250 and then said fuck it. I didn't want to demonize food.

Nothing special, quite shot from yesterday tbh. So I took 10mg halo pre workout. Now I have comparison to the test base. I’d say they are very similar at that dose. They are different in the method of action. Halo I feel more aggressive and stronger. Test base I feel more confident and that I can push myself longer in the gym. I believe each has their place. I think a combo of both will be good on meet day.

Squats felt like trash today. Energy is low, knees bothering me. I was planning on 485x3 but after that 1st Rep I said nope. Didn’t have a spotter and by the feel of the first one it was going to take everything out of me to get 3. Feels like this diet has me in a bad place at the moment. I think for the rest of this prep I’ll just maintain 225. I can cut the rest in water. Can’t do this 4 weeks out and have my strength take a dump. I’ll save the cutting plan for post meet.

Finally getting the fatigue down. Taking a few days off this week was good for me. Also did some pretty serious carb loading on wed/Thursday. Much better today. Felt good doing some light work on dead’s. I’m 4 weeks out from the meet. Next weekend will be my last heavy deadlift. I have the last round of PRP shot the Monday after that. Then my last Heavy Squat about a week later. I’m benching heavy tomorrow and probably doing some speed stuff on squats later on the week.

So I looked at my calendar wrong. I’m actually 5 weeks out. This actually gives me another 2 weeks before I start doing maxes. I’ll have to rethink my training a bit here but I’m happy I found a spare week to sort shit out after this mini deload

That’s great news. More time to get things how you want.
