Okay great, since I enjoyed this leg routine from sunday so much, here it is:
This routine was a real change of pace for me, and I liked it.
Standing leg curl: 3-4 warmup sets working up to 8 rep max. Once you hit that, do 8 reps on each leg and superset with-
Leg press: Start with 1 plate on each side, and increase the weight each set.
For example, here's what I did:
Standing leg curl 8 reps, leg press 10 reps of 1 plate on each side
Standing leg curl 8 reps, leg press 10 reps of 2 plates on each side
Standing leg curl 8 reps, leg press 10 reps of 3 plates on each side
Standing leg curl 8 reps, leg press 10 reps of 4 plates on each side
Standing leg curl 8 reps, leg press 10 reps of 5 plates on each side
Standing leg curl 8 reps, leg press 10 reps of 6 plates on each side
Standing leg curl 8 reps, leg press 10 reps of 7 plates on each side
After 7 plates, my form started to get a bit sloppy, so I called that a wrap. Your hamstrings will hate you. I used a wide and high foot placement to target my hamstrings more, use what you like. Your quads will get theirs later.
Machine Squats: I was lucky enough to have this machine in my gym, a lot don't. This is the back supported machine that your feet go at a bit of an angle, I like it. I imagine if you don't have it, smith squats would be close.
4 sets of HEAVY 8 reps, work for them, go deep BABY! Oh, and SUPERSETTED with:
Lying leg curls x 10 heavy reps.
4 sets total of 8 squats, 10 lying leg curls per set.
Quad time
Leg extensions: Work up till you hit a HARD ten reps, I think I did 4 warmup sets. When you get there bust out a hard 10 and keep your toes pointed back at you and go!
Super set these with sissy squats. Since I wanted to MURDER my quads, I held a 45lb plate till failure, do as you wish.
Finished off with calves. I did the seated calf raise for 2 sets, each set was 10 reps, 10 second stretched hold, 10 partials, 10 second stretch hold, 10 partials and another 10 second stretched hold. Good luck on these, boys.
Now, I highly recommend trying this routine, mostly because my hands are fucking numb from typing it out for you guys
