.::TEK talks::.

Life is changing eh man?
Haven't been together that long lest I miss some thing?
Pretty early of talk of babies
Unless your truly talking swine
Back with the same one. She came back around when I got home...per usual.
I don't give up on people (or I'm just a glutton for punishment)
which is why my thread isn't full of conquests like last fall.
I'm a better man when we're together anyway...everybody saw what I'm like when we are apart. I just drink a quart of blackberry liquor a day and dip my wick in anything that moves, drive trucks off the mountainside, scrap at the bars and sober up in the drunk tank.
Rinse and repeat.

Good to hear, really.

Now the next crucial part is deciding whether this will be the person that raises your kids and goes to the grave with you.
No better ally than a strong and trustworthy woman. In time if she's the right one she will be the better half and stronger than you could be even on your best day. This I know.
If she meets these requirements then godspeed. But I grew up with a whorrish mother who couldn't of possibly been a worse role model. I remember the shit she used to pull and my father was no saint but deserved better than that trash. You never wanna be there bud.

Your gettin old. It may be time for kids. Or not:D

she's rock solid when I'm here, but I was gone a lot. Looking to change that, I don't think I'm ready for a traditional 9-5....but I don't want to leave her in that position anymore and especially with children in the picture. Lots of men do what they have to, and God Bless them, but it's tough. Real tough on the family.

I'm gonna stick with the piglet for now me thinks

I'm trying to talk her into Alaska...we can come back at least part of the year when we do have youngins to be close to family. I wanna get to AK though, it's all I've been thinking about for awhile now.
Free spirit. You know how hard it was for me to convince J to move to TX? Family has a huge role in the life of a young family. Help when you need it, Babysitters, a place for ur chick to run to post preg when she's freaking out. Can't get any more isolated than AK. That is a big extreme.

It may even be in our future to move to TN closer to family cuz she won't let me forget it. Women

You are definitely Alaska material TEK , you would fit right in and probably never want to leave . I hear it all the time (Im never leaving Alaska !) If your either a hunter/fisherman/skier or military its your state . I lived there 25 yrs but I still go back every other year . Alot of family still there .
Try it out ..."The United State of Alaska"

I believe this to be true.
It's always been a dream of mine, and no better time than the present. I'm turning 28 this fall, and the girl is talking about planting roots. I've always struggled when I'm home to define a sense of purpose, I believe raising a family would give the rewards and sense of purpose I've yet to find here. However like I stated I don't want to have one foot on the platform and one foot on the train....I think it would be a potential for new growth to head North for awhile. Live a simple lifestyle yet still get my sense of adventure that I grow dull without. Use that time to get centered and work through some things I've brushed under the rug for a long while, close that chapter so I can rest easy and look forward into the next chapter of my life. I believe it will bring me and my old lady closer as well before we insert any new variables...

OGH can you get USDOM gear by bush plane? :D

Oh yes - You can get almost anything in the bush, either legally or illegally . When I mail a flat rate box from Oregon to Anchorage it takes about a week , sometimes 5 days . The bush will take a few more days from Anchorage...

There are several Alaskas , hundreds actually . Very different in the city than the bush or the sea coast or the mountains . And Alaska is not all snow & ice , thats what the TV shows show you . Plenty of places that get low snow (close to the coast) Alot of guys do oil work or fishing jobs or guides but live in the bush isolated . You want to get away from people and get lost , you can here . Its still wild but can be civilized with a 50 mile drive . You"ll love it and your the right age for the adventure...

It's time to accept your maturity. Getting older. Starting a family. Then you can be me.
Work 12-14. Train. Waste my free time on meso and sleep. Everyday for the rest of your life. Bwah bwah haha

Another thing that crossed my mind was how do I transport firearms through Canada en route to Ak? They are quite strict in my limited experience...

No problem . Just declaire you have hunting rifles at Alcan customs , they dont care . They see hunters/fishermen all day every day . Its been called the number one hunting and fishing spot in the world .

PS - they love their pitbulls in Alaska (a bunch of liberals tryed to get pits banned from the state, it was defeated by a large margin)

I used to cross the peace bridge everyday as part of my job. I went to the range the night before and forgot I had my new 44 still in my handbag. It never even occurred to me till i reached in there for my lunch and I nearly went in to full blown panic. Cuz now I gotta reenter the US with it. And anybody who knows knows the US guys are pricks.
I guess that day they didn't xray me or whatever cuz they didn't catch it. Strange.

Go figure. I was busted for smuggling smokes a couple months later. They red flagged me and gave me a stern warning. They didn't confiscate tho. That was when packs went up to $11 in NY.

I've looked into a bit...some of the systems would be prohibited under Canadian law. But I'd be traveling through, and in the US i'm covered. I'm also not talking about taking my .308 hunting for the weekend, in a relocation scenario I just foresee me and my girl stopped by some Mountie towing a 16ft motorcycle trailer of small arms and some bulldogs.

....and I'm a gram of tren deep o_O

Ive went thru at the two main borders , the Sweetgrass Montana border and usually the Blaine , Wa . border . Its worth the drive to go thru at Blaine . Nicer folks .You"ll get to see WA state too and Seattle . The whole Northwest experience . Its a better road too ( I-5 then The Alcan)

Before I left my stomping grounds. The new law went in to effect post the Newtown CT shooting. It was a factor in my choice to move. The state of NY came in and made all semi auto illegal. Which extends to shotguns and handguns not only rifles. 6 round clip max for pistols. Which meant you had to turn in your stash. Haha. Joke right?

Remington had a long standing factory that was forced to shut doors nearby because the only shotgun they produced was a semi auto. Lots of pissed off folks.

Really you had 2 choices
1 become a lawbreakers and potentially a felon by NOT abiding by the law
2 move

Pretty easy choice
