I just feel missing the micronutrients is something I wouldn't want to sacrifice.Definitely not impossible. I do it and have done it myself where I get 100-150g of protein from a powder or shake. Makes no difference body composition wise but you do sacrifice a lot of micronutrients in some cases.

I completely disagree as it is merely impossible you're getting the same results with 100g of protein from a *powder* -
@Smokey McPot you missed the point brother !
I do. As he stated he drinks the protein shakes for the macronutrients he is still missing micronutrients. He never once commented about vitamins or other fruits or veggies to make up for the lack of micronutrients. That is where my argument stands on that. No need to say not hating, you had an opinion and argument. That's what this place is for.Do you have any reason to believe this other than just stating your opinion that its impossible? Not hating just would like to have a healthy debate. I get plenty of micros from the other parts of my diet and supplementation. And I use ON whey. Gold standard or pro complex which has some of the best (if not the very best? Lab results) in terms of claimed nutrition
I have 2 drinks a day. My last one is 2 hours before I go to sleep. I have a 350 calorie drink. 60 grams of protein with 2 tbs of natural peanut butter. I use CassieneI'm curious as to where everyone stands on this. I am trying to shy from the bro-science.. But I can't find anything telling me I'm wrong. I would love for some others to chime in.
We all know.. There's a major different in getting macronutrients and micronutrients and this is why food is king. Well we also know eating constantly can be hard work. Right?
Say this. (Random numbers)
Gentleman A consumes : ( in a shake )
6 egg whites
1 cup of coconut milk
2 tbsp of Nutella
1 banana
2 tbsp of honey
Making a total of 1000 calories 90g protein 80g fat 90g carbs ... (Again made up numbers)
Gentleman B consumes : ( throughout meals )
The same 1000 calories 90g protein 80g fat 90g carbs.. We all know that's hard to eat in one sitting at times. But as a drink? Easier.
To make it clear. I stand as they both would bring. Same outcome. I've just heard others differ overtime.

Lee Haney drank a ton of shakes. Worked for him... I know I read in 5/3/1 for powerlifting by wendler he said he got big by eating 4 decent meals and 4 carb/protein shakes after every meal.
I drink a giant shake every morning with food and whey and a powder shake right before bed... drinking raw egg whites out of the carton has been a game changer for me. Pasteurized and safe- $5 gets 100 g whole food protein in super easy.
Great to know and thanks for sharing. I myself sometimes add eggwhites and fiber to a a shake on those times when I can't eat a regular mealLee Haney drank a ton of shakes. Worked for him... Exactly what I do. 4 egg whites.. Dash of milk. Chocolate syrupThrow in some chocolate syrup and it tastes like a yoohoo.
I'm not sure if you're aware, but make sure they're pasteurized. If you get it straight from the egg, there's an enzyme within the white that keeps the body from absorbing most of the nutrients. When pasteurized, the heat kills the enzyme and the body will take in all of the protein.Exactly what I do. 4 egg whites.. Dash of milk. Chocolate syrup
