What's up brother. I'm glad you could get out of the women's section and join us. They've gone from hating you to loving you overnight. I have faith that you will be able to bring it back to hate in relatively short order.

In for the ride MP!

BTW, I love doing paused deads right off the floor. Have you done them before this program? If not, whats your initial take on them?

I haven't been around much lately and it doesn't seem like you have either INH. First time I have done the pause directly off the floor. I added them in because I was getting too far forward on my pulls and having the bar drift on me as a consequence.

I like them a lot for working on these issues. I doubt if I will go higher than 405 on them as I'm trying to keep focus on correcting the form issues rather than what weight I'm picking up.

4/29
paused bench warm up 5x165, 3x215, 3x265 working sets 3x3 315
incline bench 3x10 225
dips 3x20
tate presses 3x20 35
pull throughs 12x120, 3x12 140
hip flexion 3x12 30

Triples at 315 moved the same as they have all week. Ready to see what happens next bench session on Monday with 10 triples at 335.

This Sheiko routine I'm finishing up had me doing the paused deadlifts pretty regularly. Sometimes with two pauses. Never went above 440, but it felt like 540 with two pauses. I may try to implement them in my own training plans and see how they go. I know Pete Rubish is a big fan of them.

Yeah, my activity here has been intermittent lately - the real world beckons my full attention.

I really enjoy the paused deads right off the floor. I've been doing them since I watched a Candito vid about them. IME, they're great for working on technique and speed. In the paused position, I can feel exactly where my body is in space and how I need to move for maximum efficiency. Once I get that feel for where I should be and where I need to go, I start adding the speed element in. Its a great variation that everyone should try at least once.

I agree about not pushing the weight on the paused deads. As I mentioned above, IME, they're great for technique and speed.

I've worked some double pauses in the past. They can be brutal.

Exactly I put them in specifically to dial in form. I agree with the pause just off the floor you can feel exactly where you are and how the bar and body need to move from there.

4/30
deadlift day (speed)
3x315, 10x1 365, 1x395, 1x425
dead hang pull ups 3x10
low pulley rows 3x10 250
lat pulldowns 3x8 250

I tweaked the right side of my lower back pulling last week so the light speed day came at the right time. Everything moved smoothly. Started to feel it in the same spot the last couple of singles but not bad and the accessory work went smoothly.

I seem to have the power of that peculiar oscillation with the opposite sex. Must be a super power... or mental defect. Either way life has always been exciting.

Definitely keeps things exciting. Actually having a few women here provides a welcome diversion from some of the douches posting in the steroid forum and underground threads.
