I only ate two meals a day and at the time I stayed in a Bed and Breakfast type place. Since I was long term my room fee was a lot less and as the time went on the lady that owned the business would clean my clothes for free. I didn't have but two pairs of jeans, a few shirts and I wore the same Denim/Welder shirt everyday and I would shake it out before I got home due to having grinder shards in it... I still have that shirt. Made in the USA... looks brand new still. She would clean my welders caps too... sort of became my mom. I was 21 and was forced to "Travel" to find work. I also spent 6 months in Scranton, PA.

I'm going to be a future welder one day. Lol. This denim jacket my parents gave me as a gift $80. It was custom stitched and the UA logo was custom made for me. When I first wore this jacket it was loose on me... now it's bursting at the seams but It has a lot of meaning to me. Whether I'm pimping (welders helpers) or a plumbers helper. Hoping soon to hear from the apprenticeship and get my journeyman Book in 5 years.
This jacket has been worn at the Barclays Center, the One World Trade Center, the Empire State Building, Many hospitals/schools and 80 story sky scrapers.
Scranton is one of those places that reminds you where the hardest working people in america are. Pittsburgh is like that too. Fun fact: per capita Scranton& Wilkes Barre contains the largest armed forces veterans population any where in the country. As american as apple pie

Yep the electric city. It's just not a place for young people. Mostly families. There I stayed with a middle aged welder and his wife. We would wake up every morning at 4AM. She would cook us breakfast, at 8AM we would take coffee break and we would be home around 2PM... we actually use to the play catch and throw the football around after work. His sons were married and had their own lives.... one of the requirements of me living with him and his wife was that we would play catch and throw the pigskin and that he promised my parents I would Save all my money from my weekly check lol... he's still active as a welder not sure where though. We tend to travel for work.

Got my journeymen in 2011 and I've been making six figures ever since.
I have had to chase work a little.
Moved 2x in the last 5 years but that's more to do with the economy. Once you have that license no one can take it from you and you're TOP PAY!

I survived the belly of the Beast....WALMARTS @Christmas time ! 
It was horrible , smelly fat people and crying babies , hundreds of them ! But I put my dark shades on , put my chest out and chin-up and proceeded to accomplish my goal .

I've still got my dad's plumbers and pipefitters union jacket. It's more like a windbreaker though. A couple years back I saw a guy walking in the rain wearing the same one and picked him up. He was drunk and on his way to get more booze. I told him I picked him up because I saw the union logo on his jacket and it turned out he'd worked some jobs with my dad like 20 years ago. I gave him a ride to the liquor store and back home. Small world sometimes.
