Banning immigrants from "certain" countries

You misse the whole point. Local law enforce the doesn't have the resources or the authority to go after illegal aliens its ice's job. The local authorities already comply with existing laws and deport the criminals who are not legally here. Everyday undocumented illegal is your dishwasher, your landscaper and so on. They don't get in trouble. When they are taken adventage of we want them to be able to report the crime that's committed against them. You just repeat the ahh you hear. Most these guys and gals work the jobs you don't want to do or even know existed. The rhetoric is just to get you to vote. So I don't understand your point of view off them. How are they criminal ?
Lets me ask you a question, MT. Are you of the mindset that illegal immigrants should be welcomed and given every opportunity that a US citizen should be given or are you of the mindset that illegal immigrants just shouldn't be hunted down and apprehended? Just trying to figure out where the line is drawn. Should the policy be if you were able to sneak in to the country successfully you have made it and you are good?

And you're missing my point. I'm not aware of anyone being required to do a manhunt. If you do get stopped for whatever reason and you're here ILLEGALLY then this needs to be dealt with.
To answer your question we have immigration laws, not saying they're perfect but yes they're definitely law. If you don't follow the proper procedures then you're breaking the law. That's a fact man you can't argue that.
Why do i get punished when i break laws? That's bullshit and you know it.
Let's build a wall secure the border and then deal with the issue we already have.
Do you not see the issues of people coming into our country undocumented?
The world can't be our humanitarian project. Can't you see our country has so many issues that need to be resolved?
Whether it's illegal immigration, or getting into other countries shit (unless it's possess a threat to us) let's stop and deal with our shit first.
I think you need to do a little bit more research on undocumented immigrants here than to listen to rhetoric.
60-80 % off all farm workers are undocumented immigrants. There is not an American work force to replace them
Their impact on our economy is a positive one.

Here I say it!! the problem is not the work force but the corporations. As long as you believe it's the Mexicans taking your job not the corporate greed causing the wage gap and underemployed !! There are work for all the unemployed here in the good ol states. It just doesn't pay Enough for a grown ass man with a family to live on !!!! So those jobs go to the illegals.

Comprehensive immigration law which will deal With both future and past immigration without causing havoc on economy or inocent people's lives. A policy at home and with our neighbor Mexico to strengthen border security.
In 21. Century we are talking about a border wall instead of the technology we already have to be improved!!!
Wall doesn't stop tunnels!!! Over 3 billion in street value drugs come to here most through cartel tunnels. The fences we have in places had been working for years. So if I had magic wand I would swing it and make everyone happy at where they want to live!
For a nation of immigrants, not to have compassion for the ones whose only crime is to hope for better life for their families in US is sickening. Refugees, we are turning our back on people who are fleeing carnage and certain death, because we are told we should be afraid of them!! Call me whatever you want. I don't have the stomach to tell my children I went along with the common sentiment of the people even though I know in my heart to be wrong to do so. It takes a real strong person to stand up for the rights of humanity, when all around you condemn you for it because they are thought to be scared !!

Simple question
WHEN IS UNCONTROLLED IMMIGRATION GOING TO END
Until we are packed like sardines in a tin can?

Clearly immigration can't go on forever.
It has to stop at some point. PLAIN FACT.
A simple apolitical remark.

#1 prove that opinion. Next prove how it is good for Americans.

#2 sure their is, drop welfare and you have your work force son.

I'll get back to you on this. I'm getting drunk right now. But I don't think we're very far apart from each other on this. I'm in the middle when it comes to immigration as well as a few other things.

Fadwa Alaoui is a Moroccan-born Canadian citizen living in Brossard, Quebec. Like a lot of Quebecers, she sometimes drives down to Vermont to take advantage of the deals. But on Saturday, when her family pulled up at the border, Alaoui encountered something new.

After the usual set of questions, Alaoui was asked about her religion and her thoughts on U.S. President Donald Trump. Border agents took her phone and fingerprints. Four hours later she was told that her family wasn't welcome and she was forced to turn back.

Alaoui spoke with As It Happens guest host Helen Mann about her ordeal and why she is struggling to explain what happened to her son. Here is part of their conversation.
