cardio: gamechanger?

Is there a point where too much cardio becomes detrimental to you health? Especially if someone is on cycle ? Heart wise?

If you are replacing the spent calories then there is no detrimental point that anyone on this board will ever get too. On cycle or off cycle heart wise cardio is always a positive.

doing this will still keep me around 400 carbs, so really it’s the fats/protein that may be off ?

yeah might wanna hold off at the fasted cardio i’m definitely not lean lol.

For performance purposes, I prefer keeping carbs as high as possible. This means calculating your calorie needs, figuring out protein needs, meet dietary fat needs at around the minimum or slightly above, and cramming as many carbs as possible into whatever calories you have remaining.

This approach generally will work for most people. Some people who are insulin resistant or don't tolerate carbs well might fare better with higher fats and lower carbs.

thank you guys for the advice, i have switched up my macros according to your suggestions and my tdee.

375 carbs
65 fat
200 protein
2900kc

will take docs suggestion 15-30 mins cardio 3x a week. let’s see how it goes!

That recommendation was for a specific question. I don't know what your goals are. What are you attempting to do?

I always think it's halarious seeing guys bulk and do excessive amounts of cardio at the same time.
Yeah...thats definitely not me :D
I spend 60-70 hrs a week doing shit i definitely dont want to do. Why the hell would i ruin my area of pure bliss and aggression release by doing some thing i cannot stand?
Not unless somebodies paying me

Too much of anything becomes detrimental.

A study showed male marathon runners have a higher arterial plaque than non-athletes and endurance athletes have a five-fold higher risk of atrial fibrillation than non-athletes. I haven't read the full study so I'm sure there are some critiquing points but they believe it's due to too much oxidative stress placed on the body

Having the higher level of plaque is nominal for them though as there also is study's supporting they have larger overall diameter in arteries without thinning of the vaso walls. I've read study's of triathletes at top levels having issues but like previously stated I don't believe anyone on a steroid board such as this would ever come close to the level of cardio that is detrimental. I believe everyone should do more cardio here, not Necessarily in the gym or any specific form but in general the overall lack of importance put on cardio vascular health in this industry kinda sucks.

I see now. Well, you can either reduce the amount of the caloric surplus through reducing food intake or you can keep the same intake but do some cardio to burn some of the excess calories. Whatever way works better for you.

What surprises me is that you say you're getting far too quickly while on only 3100cals a day. How old are you? What's your activity level like outside of the gym? What kind of job do you do? Are you sure you're tracking calories precisely? And if so, have you ever had a thyroid checkup?

@Docd187123 I believe his only on TRT as well. Just bulking with food and not any extra AAS or supplements.

I forgot he is 5'6 and around 180 but even then, assuming an average metabolism and moderately active lifestyle, 3100 cals is around a 20% surplus which isn't an extreme surplus. Maybe he's getting a bit bloated and confusing it with adipose tissue or maybe he just does have a slower metabolism idk lol

my activity level outside the gym is moderate i would say. i work 8-10 hours a day (let’s say about the same activity level as a salesman) than gym heavy lifting for about 1-1.5 hr (no real cardio maybe once a week for 20 min stairs) calories are tracked precisely. i get blood taken for trt i’ll have to double check if thyroid is standard in that i have no idea .

maybe i’m bloated and fat lol this is where i’m at.

TBH looking at your physique I would rather suggest a cut.
TRT should be enough to preserve the muscle that is there. At this bf% you will barely even notice the gains you make.
You will probably still be able to make at least some strength/muscle gains during the first few weeks or even months of your cut.
