Used car with lots of leg room under $20k?

Looked at an Accord ex-l, which is my top choice so far for comfort, reliability, cost and fuel mileage
image.jpeg Get the accord sport. Exl is over rated and over priced. The sport is where it's at. Comfort, style, gas mileage, warranty, room, reliability and resale value. 23k brand new. Used certified 18-20k
End of thread.

See I've thought about the impala. My hesitation is "reliable" and American cars don't really go together.

A Honda vs a Chevy, or a Toyota vs a Ford isn't very fair. But I think since Americans are fairly large, we make our cars bigger.
Example... Dodge avenger I can completely stretch my legs out in. Would I trust it to go 150-200k miles without alot in repairs

That’s how I feel about it I tried pushing her into a Toyota because those things last forever as well as Honda’s as long as u do routine maintenance. Her commute is maybe 5 miles per day so I do see it lasting a while. Also American made stuff do not hold value well whatsoever

Drove both. The downside to the sport is the 18" wheels. The combination of a stiffer ride, higher tire prices, and needing separate wheels and tires for winter is a deterrent.
However I will say if a black on black accord sport, exl, or ex were presented to me at low milage and a good price I wouldn't care which one it was lol. The accord is definitely my top pick so far overall. Just unfortunate it doesn't have more leg room

Damn if I had a 5 mile commute I'd be getting a truck, no question there. I drive about 60 a day or so

The 2 door has more leg room unless you need 4? I was a tech at Honda for years and have owned probably 10. My wife has had almost every Honda brand new from civic to the pilot. Not the van though. I bought her a used crv years ago with 35k miles drive it until 100k and traded it in with $900 equity lol

Got all fancy and stuff went and bought her a brand new 60k BMW two years ago that fucking thing's been in the shop more than all those Hondas combined.

Ugh BMW and Audi are so nice but they don't last and they depreciate fast.

I honestly never sat in a 2 door. I have a pretty big dog tho so a 2 door might not be the best.

I had an 01 accord before and it was amazing

Try the 2 door you might be surprised.
Yeah the BMW is very nice and comfortable but damn it's always something. Gps, fog light, head light, sensor, tires, brakes. I'll never own one not under warranty. It was $500 to change the head light.(warranty) They said they had to drop the entire front bumper. My wife's shit anyway. I have a 95 f150 for everyday driving. And a Ram quad cab sport 4x4 Hemi for when I feel froggy lol.

How about a loaded Taurus?? You can even get one with awd if you live up north...

I drive an accord...2008 ex-l, fucking change the oil and brake pads and it’s money. But if you’re looking for bigger, the Taurus is sharp...especially the SHO model, it’s a sleeper.

For cars, Japan all the way.
I've beat the hell out of a few brand new American trucks and they did well.
But if I was looking for reliable, Honda/Acura and Toyota would be my only options.

I get 21-23 in my ram highway. Not sure if your commute is highway. Pretty good if you ask me. That's at 75 mph
No shit.... That's a 10mpg drop from what I get now but I love Rams. Is yours a 1500 or 2500?

I'll check it out but coming from the car world (before all my money went to bodybuilding) buying a Ford is the equivalent of leaving Meso to join Evolutionary

Yeah it's definitely not car MPG. But for a truck I think it's great. I get 16-18 ish around town. Top right corner is city average image.jpeg

Good ol fashioned pushrod 2 valve american power. Not particularly advanced but its classy and mean. Just like the good ol dayz. I love the HEMI platform. I hate the 1/2 ton chassis and for lack of better word, truck like features of the half ton. Dodge designed it that way on purpose. A poll they took shown that over 80% of dodge half ton owners dont ever tow or even use the capacity of the truck. Thats what alienated me from the idea of owning a dodge half ton.

I don't tow much when I do that's for sure. Jet ski and 4K lb camper. I mainly like when I mash that fuken pedal we go! Lol :D

Yeah sounds nice i know. The sound is delicious. The HEMI reigned supreme in truck power for over a decade...till the freakoboost came out. No, it sounds gay for sure. But it is way faster...but idk bout you. I dont own 4x4s to go fast?

Nope . Speed just happens to be a by product of my 4x4 lol. I really like the ride of the independent suspension also. That's what really sold me on this truck. It felt like a truck when I drove it. I drove them all before buying one too.
