Used car with lots of leg room under $20k?

Nope . Speed just happens to be a by product of my 4x4 lol. I really like the ride of the independent suspension also. That's what really sold me on this truck. It felt like a truck when I drove it. I drove them all before buying one too.
Buy what you like man. You really cant go wrong with an American truck. Their legendary and in a highly competitive segment. There are no weak products in the pickup segment. Not like the car segment

Just make sure to get one with a full bed. The most disappointing moment is when someone brags about their new truck shows up to get work done and can’t fit a damn thing in the bed because it’s like 5 feet if that. I call those man vans. Don’t buy a man van. Other than that you really can’t go wrong with the 250 or 2500 series of American trucks.

I stick to low mile one owner west coast Mercedes - huge value, superb cars. Fantastic lightly used vehicles can be had under $30K. E550 for example - simply outstanding cars.

I'm practically allergic to Asian cars, just can't stand the smell, not joking. And FWD is of the devil.

Regarding US brands, I'd only consider a truck, the rest is more or less shit. Corvettes are different, they seem fun but I already have an SL. Thinking about an older honest bench seat full bed Chevy/GMC pickup. Maybe get one from Cali.

Yes!!!!

WTF is the point with less than a full bed? If you can't put a stack of 8'x4' sheets on the bed, and close the gate, it's not a truck.

Exactly. All that money spent for an open cab SUV. Total waste of materials to put the vehicle together. People that drive those seem to be the guys that come in do as little real work as possible then go home to brag to their wives about how hard they worked. Straight up posers collecting checks for beating their meat all day in their man vans.

I agree. That's why I have a work truck! 8ft bed. My ram bed hauls golf clubs:cool:
Too bad she's not as shiny anymore. :(Damn sun

When it comes to vehicles nowadays they all share similar technology. For cost, dependability and nice features I'd have to agree that an Accord is a good buy. You really can't go wrong with a Honda accord or a Toyota Camry.

I think since the accord is the same price id always go with Honda over Hyundai. JMO

The Koreans are pretty good these days, after they refocused back in the mid 90s they've really gotten good. Koreans are better drivers too - they have real roads and streets in Korea, not the cramped conditions in Japan. I.e. Korean car engineers are more likely to know how to drive.

Also, the Koreans cooperate a lot (or used to anyway) with the Germans - who drive like gods, thus German cars are the best. :-)

They drive like shit though - how can you tolerate that dead steering? The ex-mother-in-law has had a string of Camrys that I've had the misfortune to have to drive at times. Shittiest steering ever - torque steers too.

And if you have the 4 banger it's torture listening to it. Other than flat fours, 4 bangers are an abomination.

Unless it's an Evo on 28psi of boost with an open dumb waste gate...... But unfortunately I'm looking at a wise choice not a toy lol

If you're 17 - get the fuck off this site. :)

If you're older than that, WTF are you doing looking at one of those? ;)

BTW, aren't those flat fours?

Hahaha I'm not 17. But I do miss the days of drag racing and tuning fuel maps. Being able to push over 500hp at the wheels on a 4cyl was alot of fun and learning about fuel mapping, load cells, and ignition timing was great!

By flat do you mean straight? The Evo has 4 pistons in a row going up and down. The STI has a boxer engine where the pistons are going left to right. The ricers like civics and vw well, I never even touched those

Flat, pancake, boxer, horizontally opposed - same, same. Good designs.

Straight or inline (ref BMW) are only OK if 6 cans, or more (ref old US cars with I-8 engines). 4 cylinder inline engines might be workhorses, but they cannot be made to sound right, or run smoothly. Thanks to liberals, that's what we're looking at for the future.

Just got a newer Taurus SHO. 6 cyl twin turbo awd 350ish hp. Nice car and drives great. One car I was shocked about the legroom in was the smartcar. A friend of mine is 6'5" and has more legroom in it than his impala. Newer impalas are very reliable and value priced. They were the bread and butter of my lot for years. Sold tons with over 150k that were still great cars.

I knew we would get along outside of here lol
I was a tech a Honda for years in my 20's and all we did was build bad ass all motor or boosted gsr or Si motors. I had a 88 CRx si with a JDM civic type R motor I built from scratch. 203 hp all motor at the wheels. Built tranny also. Ran low 11's in the 1/4. My shop foreman had a boosted civic hatch caged with a parachute running low low 9's. Oh the good ole days of spending every dollar I had on nothing but engine parts lol
