nerds everywhere man

Speaking of nerding out. Finally got to play the latest resident evil game, RE7. Shot was pretty damn scary and a good game all around, seemed kind of short though, and the final boss was a pushover.

I'm a fucking toolbag. I saw this video and all I could think about was how the programming would work. I need a life.

I have now!

Not sure if your into space and shit like that but Netflix has some pretty cool documentaries right now about the universe and black holes. I love that stuff. Especially after an edible.

Pretty fucking cool huh!? You know how to program cnc machines?
I do., well the easy ones. Ive programmed and operated one in the shop by Accurouter, i use Rhino programing software. The thing is a dinasaur, yet a true work horse. I have to push 7 buttons to get it to cut, and then there is the vacumn. Rollers up, rollers down, its always fun cutting a new program for the first time, plunged the bit into the table once, or twice:(

No sir, I don't. I just took a look at some software stuff online, doesn't seem crazy but I don't know what I'm looking at lol. Seems like something I wouldn't say no to learning though.

When I saw the pancake video all I could think was how do you design logic to make the robots move in a way to advance the stacks of cakes like that? All from cameras, too.

The speed of the work was messing with me but if you strip down the speed it becomes clear. You make a grid pattern, a map of sorts, starting from the end of the machine. Grid it all the way to the front (begining) of where the cameras see. The robot arms attack the existing cakes based on their progression through the grid, which would be presets obviously. The stacks are like 'home' locations so they never change, just the grid changes as the cakes keep coming.

Simple. Cakes occupy grid. Camera senses occupation, triggers preset. Arm attacks cake location, returns cake to stack. Rinse. Repeat.

I'd love to see how it really works lol

Going to smoke some weed. Total dork, I know...
