Lexapro is an SSRI. Effexor is an SNRI. Wellbutrin is an NRI.

Generally speaking: SSRI’s decrease sexual function. NRI’s increase sexual function. If you have too much sexual dysfunctions with an SSRI, stack Wellbutrin(NRI) on top or switch to an SNRI(like Effexor).

If you know what you are talking about, you can most times just guide your GP into the meds that you want to try.

Have a Psych degree, lifetime of anxiety and tried many meds, worked in the field and live with a pharmacist :/

Buproprion is an NDRI with the dopamine reuptake causing most of the positive side effects. Other medications (SSRIs and SSNRIs) sometimes have a dopamine "kick," but nothing compares to buproprion as far as having an effect in dopamine reward centers.
 
Can someone please point me in right direction for how to place an order with Stanford? Before you tell me to read through the 155 pages of irrelevant conversation, please know that I wont. Spare me from reading through 50 pages of banter (funny btw) to get my fix :) I have pm'ed stanford but no response and that was 2 weeks ago

Correct! Thank you for the added clarification!

Effexor can also have a dopamine “kick” to it, but only at very high doses. Wellbutrin has the kick to it in its normal doses.

Many would believe that you can get high off the dopamaine release of Wellbutrin, however, it has a self limiting factor in that you will have seizures when reaching a dose that would get you “high.” I’ve read about people crushing and eating and also rectally administering small doses of Wellbutrin for a low dose “buzz.” Any higher though, and you risk seizure. So do NOT attempt!

He only responds to email not pm. If he doesn’t respond within an hour or so, just shoot him another email since it probably didn’t go through. It’s what I do. I normally send 1 email every hour till he gets it.
