Opinions on my macros for maintaining

Hope everyone had a great Holiday. I spent quite a few months cutting and recently decided that I was ready to shift to maintaining/recompositioning. I purchased an app that had good reviews and I just wanted some feedback on the macros it layed out for maintaining.

I'm also running Creeping Death v2 @ 5× per week with pull and push focus. I'd move through each phase every two weeks and hold until I do my next blast in the summer, at which time I'll switch to bulking. I'm pretty new at counting macros and wanted to see what you all here thought.

Why are there “phases” for maintaining?

Your maintenance is now whatever you ended your diet stage at assuming you were at that caloric intake for a bit. Unless you’re planning another diet stint after this maintenance piece, why build cals?

If you truly want to maintain just keep your current intake. If you’re looking for metabolic building out of this without any gains I’d ask why? For being able to eat more or for another fat loss stage?

Also, more than doubling carbs on a “refeed” doesn’t seem necessary since your carbs aren’t actually that low and didn’t start high since you’re coming off a cut.

Should I completely drop the refeed days? The diet was outlined like this because I am coming from a caloric deficit. I assumed this is "dieting up" or increasing calories slowly to prevent excess fat buildup.

It appears to be. Is that your goal; to build your metabolism without any sort of weight gain?

The refeed days do seem aggressive for that goal depending on how often they are. I much prefer just one cheat vs a complete high day but maybe that’s splitting hairs.

Are you doing this on AAS?

To be clear, this doesn’t look terrible and my view on this is from a bodybuilding standpoint where I eat the same essentially every single day.

Only trt right now until summer when I'll blast 500mg test and 500mg deca for 15 weeks. I was planning at that point to switch to gaining and increasing calories again. I was hoping for some recomp and improved performance without adding fat. Carb sources are mainly rice, oats, and itra-workout carbs. The refeed is once per week and if I start to gain weight I guess I'll drop it.

Perfect.

My advice is keep food small now. Don’t concern yourself with a planned step-up in cals during a maintenance phase if you plan to gain later. Have a cheat once a week or so. Maintain your normal intake.

You dieted, presumably happy with where you’re at body comp wise. Keep the food low until it’s time to blast and add weight. You’ll thank me when you have to go from say 2k to 4K cals va 3.5k to 5.5k.

Your body doesn’t care about the absolute number of cals, only the delta from its established steady state.

Awesome. I'm gonna take that advice. One more question too. Would you reccomend lowering intake on the two rest days?

I never did and still don’t. If you’re natural maybe it matters. If you’re on AAS protein synthesis really doesn’t shut down so I just keep my food constant. On a maintenance phase especially, why worry about a varried caloric intake.

All my opinions of course. Million ways to skin this cat I just prefer as simple as possible.

True, I appreciate it.
