But DO they run everything through an X-ray machine? If they did, even the best stealth would be caught, and we know that’s not the case.

While TV shows make believe every single pack is analyzed,
they don't have enough X-ray machines to do so
so they only test some packages, mostly at random.
But, roll the dice enough times
and you'll get caught sooner or later.
OTOH I believe the kilogram amount triggered a controlled delivery
as compared to just getting love letters with 20 or 50 gram orders.

That's a pretty big bag of anavar and Tren. Makes the testosterone bag look like a normal sized bag. I've had lots of powder shipped my way and the stealth on such a large amount would be very difficult. I don't really want to go into any more detail than that, just saying it would be difficult.
Density, shape and organic matter are the things they normally pickup. i'm pretty sure those at the top end of the biz have bought the machines or have friends in cstoms and have experimented to learn exactly what their detection capabilities are. Operator skill is probably a big factor too.
