Rice as your main carb source?

No bread, no pasta
rice as your main carb source

I tried it
on the plus side you feel sharp, clear minded
less chance to get your stomach upset.

The only downsides is that rice ain't too energy dense so you have to eat a lot
and rice spoils quite easily, feeding nasty bacteria. So you'll need to eat freshly cooked rice, or put it in the fridge and rewarm, impractical when not home.

I know there’s not a huge difference and a lot of people say “rice is rice” but I’ve been using basmati rice lately and it’s fucking awesome!

So not the case.

Doesn't matter how long you rinse it, the $1.00 stuff from Walmart is definitely the $1.00 stuff from Walmart.

Basamati is my jam, but I'll still pick up the odd 5Lb'er of Jasmine here and there.

It's just hard not to throw together a curry to go with it. :/

Whenever im cooking jasmine rice the kids come down thinking im making popcorn lol. Guess it does kind of smell like it. I like just a splash of soy sauce on my jasmine or brown rice.

No doubt lol, but for some reason people still argue with me about rice. I just let them go because to be honest, if $1 Walmart rice is what they want to eat, it doesn’t make a fuck to me lol. I’m not the one eating it.

Red potato has always been my go to . My 1st coach used to say " ever see a big China man?" Also... read that you can utilize more by mixing your carb sources in meal ..

Your coach seems to be confusing food sources and caloric intake.

I’d have to eat double the volume of potatoes to match rice’s carb density.

Bro science is bro sciency.

Yea., it was 1995, bro science was in full effect. How about the 2nd statement? Mixing carb sources in meal improves utilization? Appreciate your input .

Not sure. Seems viable for proteins for amino coverage. Not sure about any digestion benefits from mixed carbs. Though I have done it. Did like it. I’d say do as you wish there.

Wild rice is the only true earth grown rice, everything else is man made. If inflammation isn’t an issue go ahead. I stick to sweet potatoes, beets, chickpeas, fruit. I get plenty of carbs without rice. I miss how easy it was though
