Everybody has insecurities, it's not a bad thing always. It's part of human nature. The trick is to be aware of it. I sometimes have to get up and speak in front of 200 people at work. My buddy does the same. He asked me how I can be so comfortable in front of everyone, he says hes scared shitless. I said"you could strike up a conversation with anybody here individually, couldnt you? So what's the difference in it being a group?" Plus, I was a spelling bee nerd as a kid. I came in 2nd in the state of Mass. in the 5th grade. I was on stage a lot. I think it's a good thing to get kids exposed to talking in front of large groups.

Yeah insecurities are what breeds competition. I want to be better than you. But at a certain extent that becomes excessive and certain red flags can pop up. We can ignore our problems all our life, SSRIs and wine will make you blind. The worst I hear is when people get medicated, there should be no reason for anybody to medicate unless you are suicidal and at that point it can be a negative experience dealing with Mental Health.

The outside and inside is dirty?
Tell me more about your dog. Any deviant behaviors?
You have a lot of tattoos?
Mess inside week of meal prep Tupperware piled all over. Its broken and rusty so don't clean the outside. My dog is a pitbull he killed a chicken yesterday and shit on the porch. No tattoos.

I went through that deep, introspective phase when I was 15-16yo. Finally one day I just shut it off and was fine. It was messing with my goals at the time. I can compartmentalize like a motherfucker and go back to things when the time comes. I think a lot of people who become suicidal cant shut those thoughts out of their heads. It's a shame because people think they're weak.

Speaking of crazy. My son works in the emergency room of a hospital. Police brought in a guy who they Baker acted. The guy went through the drive thru at McD's and the person in front of him got the last of the ice cream they ran out as he pulled up to the window. He fucking threatened to kill them all! Haha...

In all fairness, years ago when I still ate that shit, I did the same thing.

They'd just changed the Double into the Mcdouble with one piece of cheese. When I was like, 'What the fuck is this shit,' and they tried to charge me a quarter for a second piece of cheese?

I about pulled that mother fucker through the window.

Look up...fuck it, I'll link it -

Cornette got nothing on me that night.

@Sworder

ur starting to sound like a dietician that doesn’t know what they’re taking about but instead for psychology.

honestly I don’t know what ur point of this thread was. It’s like you watched a commercial for a rated r movie and that triggered you to post this.

Maldonado u don’t have kids I have a niece and nephew. So do I. It’s much different than being a parent

I've never threatened anybody but the McD near my house used to fuck up my order every time(10yrs ago). I ordered some shit, went home and my Big mac was missing again! I drove back and went inside. They gave me my Big mac and I took it out of the box and whipped it at the window. Now, I feel like an ahole when I think about that.

Damn, that guy went apeshit. I dont think I could cuss at a woman like that! A local work truck cut me off so I called and it was the guy driving! He went like 70mph and jammed on the brakes to cut me off at a merge, nobody was behind me either! Well anyway, I asked him why he fucking cut me off. He was a cocky asshole so I told him to pull over and get out, he wouldnt. I told him that he likes getting fucked in the ass by fat cocks. By this time it was 2 lanes and he was next to me at a light. I kept saying "you like it, dont you? A fat cock stuffed in your ass!" I was looking right at him, he would not look back. Put down my window and yelled too. He drove off. About an hour later he called and apologized. Oh, my wife was next to me too! Shes like"I cant believe youd talk to someone like that!"

The government actually got one thing right. Seriously.

Do you have a good argument for why you want your children to see adult material?
Did some old guy blow his load on your face when you were a kid.

It’s not that I WANT them to see adult material but I know it is unfortunately unavoidable in this day.

So with bad language we teach them when the use of certain words is appropriate or inappropriate. With drinking/drug use we tell them why people choose to do that and teach them the perils of addiction. With sex we teach them that is only reserved for people that are in love.

Realistically kids grow up fast now. So if you think the answer is to wrap them in a bubble or put blinders on them, then you are being naive. You need to educate them to make their own mature responsible decisions or who knows what they will end up doing in peer pressure situations.

I liken holding back your kids from society to a slingshot. You hold them back from the world and when you let them go they overshoot their target by doing drugs, getting knocked up, etc. They usually go batshit crazy for a while. I knew a couple of people like that. A woman who was raised strict 7th day Adventist got knocked up as soon as she was free. I had a friend(parents were German immigrants) in Boston who couldnt leave his yard at 12yo but his parents trusted me(big mistake) so let him go with me. We'd drink whiskey and ride our bikes around the city doing some crazy shit. He was the instigator usually.(I'd had my fill by this time)

Nowadays with the internet at every kids fingertips it's hard to hold them back. Being educated is ALWAYS better than not knowing and making a spur of the moment decision
I always told my daughter use logic tempered with emotion when making decision. She would ask me a question about something and I'd say "What do you think?" She'd say"I know, I know, logic!".

Another great thread, people should always go to steroid forums when questioning how to raise their kids. Why is the op such a douche

My kids are already raised. I'm free. Haha. I dont think Sworder even has kids? It is "general discussion" forum though.

Let them wait! "Daddy is silly you guys have to watch that when you are older." "Daddy wants you guys to wait until you are 18 so you have a huge library of movies to go through on your 18th birthday."
17 or 18 is pretty similar. I would wait until 18 just because of the science behind it. Teaches them discipline too :)

I know how stupid this sounds. But you have a choice, either you are going to allow them to watch R rated movies and listen to Explicit language. Or you protect them and try to reduce harm as much as possible. Again, a lot of time we will project our own vulnerabilities by reaffirming ourselves. "I did this as a kid, therefore, (s)he must be fine."

I am serious about the R rated stuff. Keep in mind, I am not saying "If you let your kid watch R rated movies, he will be a problem child." I am saying this:
If you can choose as a parent between option No R rated and option R rated. Choose option "No R rated." If we put it this way, what damage can it do to keep this from them? Because I am telling you, and the government is actually right. It isn't a good thing for a child's development. And that will avoid them from getting friends that may have emotional issues. You don't want your kid to have a bunch of friends that have emotional issues. I can go on and on about this with paragraphs of support. But that would only serve as over compensation.

The worst that could happen is that your kid grows up to not have a care in the world and is too dorky. I wish I was dorky as fuck, we all grew up too fast.

If you guys have a daughter, pay especial attention as our women are extremely repressed in society. It is hard for them! I don't know how it is obviously as a male. But growing up having to be portrayed as a cum dumpster to men HAS to do something to your self esteem. We have a lot of male role models that rule the world, women don't have that of course they will feel lesser than men.

So with bad language we teach them when the use of certain words is appropriate or inappropriate.

It isn't that straight forward. With bad language we reinforce Unhealthy ways to express your anger. You don't want to teach your kid to swear when they get mad! Swearing is bad, seriously, you can tell a lot of a person by how they speak. If an adult woman is swearing a lot in her sentences that says a lot about them. :)

Again, these a red flags if anything. It isn't. "He swears therefore he is an asshole." But if you want to think that every single word you choose is "random" I strongly urge you to rethink "random." Nothing is random here in life, when they generate random numbers they don't use algorithms strictly. They use radioactive elements and count the amount of electrons that are released. Even that fits on a bell curve however.

With drinking/drug use we tell them why people choose to do that and teach them the perils of addiction.

The drugs and alcohol is more conditioning somebody to use those substances to deal with GRIEF and anger. If somebody has a drink because "they are stressed." They have an alcohol problem or "unhealthy way to express emotions," even worse if they drink because they are sad or angry, that's exactly what you want to avoid.

With sex we teach them that is only reserved for people that are in love.

The sex shows them that women are below us. It isn't good for them to see these things. They aren't able to consciously process what they are seeing. C'mon were you guys able of critical thinking sub 18? I was completely retarded until my 30s. And I am still figuring things out.

Realistically kids grow up fast now. So if you think the answer is to wrap them in a bubble or put blinders on them, then you are being naive.

Yes, you are 100% correct. That is what we want to avoid. You want stupid silly kids, not mature adults. Maturity in kids is a negative sign.
I am not saying the answer is this and that. Because you still have the whole world to teach your child! I am saying there are certain things that have been established that are deemed harmful for a child's development.

You need to educate them to make their own mature responsible decisions or who knows what they will end up doing in peer pressure situations.
NO NO NO!!!! You can't educate a kid man!! Stop forcing them to grow up.

Treat your child as if it is the most precious and delicate thing in this world.

Who knows what will happen?! It is known actually. Do you really think this is a mystery? Thing is. Nobody is going to jump into your life and tell you you are doing wrong. And you will justify your actions to save face for yourself. Nobody likes to admit to themselves they have done something wrong or hurtful. Especially to their kids. Holy shit man. That is some struggle! I am really happy we are able to talk about these things. It is a very unique subject.

A lot of times people talk about a Venn Diagram that includes emotions and logic. Men tend to have a bigger "Logic" than "emotions" and women vice versa.

What does your daughter to for a living? What about her Boyfriend?
