They most certainly do. It's something like an independent business owner or something along those lines. However, I do know that sex work is also in a legal grey area. I would assume it's the kind of grey area where you pay taxes but don't really get any benefits... Not like that's much different from here but it is what it is.
If they didn't pay taxes then I would agree they're probably not really entitled to stimulus money, but even that could be debated.

Unless you're physically harming someone else, the government should have no ability to dictate what you do to and or with your body.
As far as sex work, which is an extremely broad term, making it illegal has made it extremely more dangerous for everyone involved. Prohibition has never fixed or even slightly improved anything except political image.

Receiving a payment for rendering a service makes it a job. Sorry dude, but just because it makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean it isn't a job. You can get upset throw a fit about it if you want, I'm completely indifferent, but it doesn't change anything. It's literally the oldest profession in the world. You don't have to agree with it, I certainly don't think it's a great career path either, but that doesn't mean that it isn't a job.
And again, it's not just YOUR taxes... It's their taxes too. Further, by filing taxes it makes them eligible for a registered retirement plan IE a pension. For fuck sake, I don't even live in Canada... How is it that I'm explaining your own country to you?
