RIP Luke Sandoe

Hmmm, shouldn't gossip tbh but from a quick search people are suggesting suicide. Aaron Singerman has denied this, but he isn't in the least bit reliable

I just assumed it was the drugs taking their toll but perhaps not

Suicide is what I came across as well.

Nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to suicide, I wish society wasn't so shocked or ashamed by it. Some of us go that direction, it was his choice.

Unconfirmed but suicide is the rumor.

@Yakov that’s an absolutely terrible fucking take dude. Go sit in the corner and reconsider that.

to the rest of you, between doing whatever it takes to help or find you help and hearing about your passing, I’ll take the former. Please, PLEASE reach out if you need help. And on the other side, check on your friends. The happy, funny, upbeat ones too.

I've read volumes of books on the philosophy of suicide, I'm well versed in the matter and it's extremely complex. I don't judge anyone for doing it at all, young or old.

I do think it's mostly due to societal stress, mans desire to keep up appearances. Remove a man from all forms of stress, give him all the resources he needs to survive and suicide is extremely rare. So it's mostly a reaction to externals and not some sort of mental illness like so many want to paint.

I can remember when I was in college, there was a bell tower that was probably 8 stories high that students would use to kill themselves every few years back in the 80's and 90's when exams were drawing near. This is a good example of external forces causing people to do what isn't naturally part of man. Society caused these problems and it's up to man to grow the balls to tell society to piss off so we can all stay alive.

Depression is nothing to be ashamed of. Unless you have a terminal illness and you want to make that choice, society shouldn't allow suicide caused by depression to become normalized. Far too many people take their own lives needlessly and your post pretty much comes across as encouragement. Maybe you're trying to come off as compassionate and non judgemental, and I can respect that, but that really didn't come across good at all.

Suicide inflicts pain on people close to the person and definitely not a good way to go in my opinion. Some people choose to end it because they feel trapped and no way out especially if depressed or having some mental episode.

Still I would never wish that on anyone. RIP Luke Sandoe.

Depression isn't the only reason people kill themselves, I'd say it's a very small part of it.

I've had bouts where I came close to killing myself with a noose around my neck. This had nothing to do with depression at all, it was from situations of extreme stress. It wasn't until I told people to fuck off that I found the peace to never think those thoughts again.

Professionals want to teach you coping skills to accept stress, to accept your lot in life, to deal with assholes. This creates a situation where you are constantly being antagonized, you have peace and calm and then storms. This can't be the purpose of life.

Jiddu Krishnamurti said it best “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”

And this is precisely what mental health professionals want you to be adjusted to, they want you adjusted to the mess, instead of stepping off and waving goodbye to the crazy train. It takes real courage to drop out of what society expects of you. Too many people have been brainwashed to admire the hero, the great one, so much of peoples lives are nothing more then pretending to enjoy what makes people miserable. And thus suicide, people looking for an escape.

So sad.

Wonder if there’s a connection between deca and depression, read a lot on it affecting neurotransmitters etc. only time in my life I got really depressed when I tried a deca only cycle very early on (I know how stupid it was)... not saying he was on deca (most likely he was) and sorry about the speculation just more curious about my own deca use and maybe looking into this may help others

But again, very sad for him and his family, looks way to young to has passed

Did you really expect him to not have an ass backwards view on the subject?

And now you got him writing book posts again. i hope you're happy with yourself.

How is it backwards?

You don't think societal expectations encourage suicide?

You think this guy was just sitting around one day and was going "I'm gonna annihilate myself".

I'm sick to death of people calling this mental illness. Suicide is serious, but the issue of cause is largely the result of hyper competitive cultures. Take a look at Japan and South Korea, those people are nuts, they are extremely judgmental, harsh on themselves, so caught up in what others think of them and for that reason they are driven to kill themselves when they don't measure up.

This is evil, this is what societal expectation does to people. You give me a dude that lives in the wilderness for a decade that can survive and clear his head from this madness and he'll have his head screwed on straight, but you bring him back to so called civilization and he'll lose his mind in nothing flat.

Less than 5% of men with depression kill themselves, the act of suicide is largely psychological, social perfectionism is at the root of this problem. Instead of raising men to say fuck off, to do what they naturally want to do, to let them just be, we pick at each other, we criticize, we run down, demoralize, this cruelty eventually can come to a crescendo called suicide. Whether it's someone else doing it to us, or our brainwashing for this behavior is so strong that we actually do it to ourselves to the point we do what is illogical, destroy ourselves.

Drug use of any kind has impacts on the brain. A responsible user understands their own tendencies and weaknesses and weighs their use against it. Abuse isn’t just using too much. It’s using things that don’t agree with you knowing the personal risk.

I believe Luke has spoken about mental health issues going back years and years. To say it was gear is a bit dumb, but to think it couldn’t have contributed is also silly.

Amazing person with so much potential and so far from his peak, he could have done so much more and its a real shame to see a true bodybuilder like him go
