1k is tricky on wind. How many wind calls and at what distances? Are you looking 100-200 past the target for that last call?

When I’m practicing I only have a flag 100 yrds in front of me. But during the comp they will have that one and one at 500 and one at 1000. I play on the marriage at 1000 cause it’s in Louisiana so it’s humid as hell.

I personally make 4 the last being At 200 past target. I don't know what the terrain is like down there but peaks and valleys can really fuck up a single call

I shoot F-TR 300meter match every month. 3 strings of 20rds 600 points max score. Electronic target and monitor system. I shoot a steel pistol match and looking into doing two gun.

So did my match today.... 3 20 shot relays at 1k and I found out I was the only one shooting a stock rifle.

Hell I was using a 5-25 scope and damn everyone else had nothing less than a 40x so yeah I was out of my element for sure.

My damn 175 Berger bullets didn’t make it in time so I had to shoot my 175smk. I need to learn to gauge wind at that distance better for sure.

So I scored 519 out of 600 for my first contest and guys were telling me that’s not bad for my first contest so I don’t know.

I do know I wasn’t the last place but far from the front. Had fun and will compete again next month!

Thanks. It was def different so I thought we could use spotters and nope the guy behind me is the scorer and not allowed to help me. But I had fun and I’m burnt to a crisp.

519 sounds great for 1k! I shoot 300 meters and I average 585. Good shooting

Thanks bro. Have you looked through the NF competition scope 15-60x ? I’m thinking about getting that

@Mighty-mouse I haven’t. I run a vortex PST gen 2 5-25x50, which is fantastic for under 600yrds. But I’ve never stretched out to 1k

Same one I shot my 1k with. It’s doable at 1k but not for comp.
