I've never used nylon, but ba and bb are fine for nylon filters. I'd not do more than 60mls per filter though.

Ah yes that one too.. i was thinking at PES… you could find some chart on web about solvent compatibility… yeah i saw that Nylon is ok

Yeah, I went searching again thinking maybe I seen it wrong. No biggie.
I'm only gonna brew 50ml for this first time.
What's getting me kinda worried is the .45micron instead .22.
I mean, I think I have a clean enough kitchen but you never know...
.45 will be fine if your tools are clean. .45 was used by people for the longest time back in the day, but .22 is best obviously.

since i use bottle top filter i use PVDF of PTFE filters membrane because PES and Cellulose get fucked by solvents… dont know if I ever found nylon membrane for my bottle top, i just go for PVDF or Teflon (PFTE) becsuse i m sure they resist to BB BA and EO.. i forgot to add Nylon, because as stated i dont use it
once i stored some hundreds ml of NPP with 20% BB in a plastic bottle that was coming with the bottle top filter, and it was sterile already so i used it to store the oil, since during filtration those plastic bottles crash after 1 second if negative pressure is too high , and i swap them with glass ones. I thought that since it was coming with a filter unit would have been suitable to what i was filtering.
after a month, that plastic bottle got holed and i lost all the oil. Remember i put some BB on a plastic cup and after 10 minutes it was completely melted. But didnt think that bottle was made of the same shitty plastic

Oh yes. I was thinking you ment syringe filters. Their syringe filters are trash but their bottle top filters are the way to go. I always bought their plastic ones too if I was gonna bottle it up right away. Other then that I had glass ones I'd use that were 1,000ml I think.
The PVDF is definitely the way to go.
How their syringe filters are soooo terrible is beyond me.

If their nylon syringe filters trash them. If their the bottle top filters I'd use them.

I'm only brewing 50ml, I don't mind skipping the caulking gun this time and do it slowly by hand.

Ya they break easily. And some times they just don't explode they can break a little and it's hard to notice the increase in flow. I got a bunch of them and ran an experiment by trying to see what they'd hold up too. It creeped me out when one didn't break and that's when I notice the mesh inside actually had a hole from where it broke just a little under pressure. That means you could be shooting unfiltered solution. That would bring an infection real fast. Not worth the risk. Just the best quality you can rely on.
