Don't do that. The sugar free stuff supposedly still triggers an insulin response in your body because the sweet taste tricks your brain somehow. Negates the fasting benefits. Too lazy to dig it up right now but there was a thread about it a couple years ago.

Just stay hydrated and you'll get used to the fasting pretty quick. I actually feel a little more mentally alert when fasted.

I’ve have heard that and people have different opinions on it. Not totally sure on it. I’ve been drinking my coffee with artificial sweetener. I’ll try doing so without and assess for a difference. May as well get the deal experience end decide. I do feel more alert during the fast for sure. but pretty grouchy to be honest. Maybe not something to do indefinitely, or even for more than a couple days at a time. More than just regular diet annoyed. Saying rude shit to my kids grouchy. Could just be initial adjustments too. I lol ride it out and see what happens.

Something between a cold and the flu but its lingering on for the 7th day now. Feeling a tad better, did some yard work in the morning and didn’t feel horrible. By the time I got done with my squats and bench I was feeling wiped, started messing with deadlift and said fuck it. May as well just use it as a deload and take it for what it is. Maybe my hip will heal if I leave it alone long enough.

Feeling a little better but the rona is still lingering around. Still feel pretty run down. Had a more productive workout but it was not my usual. Lounging around the house doin the quarantine thing. Too bad Im not feeling better, I could have some really good training without having to work all day. Ah well, hip is feeling better since I haven’t trained heavy weights for lower the past week. Might be a silver lining to this after all.
 
Ouch man, stay safe...the Rona is no slouch really. Had several members of my family get it over the winter and I caught it but lucked out as my case it was just very much like a bad cold with a fever. It was gone in 4 days and I kept hydrated and taking C and Zinc.

Did you lose your smell and taste? I didn't thankfully.

It is similar to a bad cold. I did loose my taste for a day or so and I think aim going through the loss of smell right now.

Most of the covid symptoms are gone, still have some junk in my sinuses but feeling 80-90% at least. Bench Moving really well today. Been thinking a lot about foot placement and better leg drive. Gave it a shot and it definitely made a difference. I’m sure the low intensity higher rep work has helped, along with the weight releasers and the variations. Yukon Bar, Larsen, Dbells, Incline, close grip etc. I really think to be a successful bencher one has to train that lift the most often and with the greatest variation. It would be great to actually have a bench that’s not a handicap for a change. Deadlift is still at deload weights, my adductor is still hurting. Seems like that is only spot now so some progress there.

Basically my first week back , lol. Little out of condition from laying around the houwe for 10 days but the rona is gone. Whew squats were a bit rough, top set was a rep PR even though I planned 5. Watched the video and definitely had another one prob 2 reps based off how fast and deep they were.
I was getting a back pump and didn’t want to bail as I was in the combo rack . 5 at that weight should be there next week. The weight releasers bench moved well, was able to control the Weight with issue.
 
Good to hear you are on the mend...and you got lucky. Did you get vaccinated before by chance?
I’m not sure if it’s luck, I’m pretty low risk. I wasn’t vaccinated. Not sure I see the point, most people I know who got the vaccine got sick from it and many are
Still getting covid, although maybe not quite as bad. Just seems pointless.

Edit: I am happy it wasn’t worse, I shouldn’t take that for granted. There’s no stimulus money for covid off
Time anymore but the quarantine time is still a requirement. so if I had to be off work any longer I would’ve burned all my vacation and if I had to go to the hospital then the medical bills would be on top of not working. Definitely a loose /loose. Should count my blessings

I had a close call with the virus last October and came down with a rather bad cold and tested positive for the original virus, and this was before the new Delta variant came on the scene. Got vaccinated in April so now fully vaccinated myself as I am actually in a high risk group due to my blood type and family history for strokes.

If I was high risk I would’ve got it. I
Was reluctant because I wanted to see how it shook out. After seeing the personal experiences of friends family a co workers I didn’t want to have faux covid with that big meet I had in June. Only then just wind up getting it down the road. If it was likely to hospitalize or kill me the vaccine is worth it.

Kinda wiped, worled an over night Tuesday and still kinda fatigued. 2 hours of sleep and half of it was in my truck. Bench was decent but wasn’t getting set up right. My coach spotted me on the top set and said “ did you forget how to bench” Making too muck of a sacrifice on arch for leg drive. Played around with it some. Work in progress. May give the Mk 677 another try, I felt more energy on it and I think bf was lower. Just fucks me up taking it before bed. Going to do an Am only dose and see how it goes
