Meso Book Club

Thought I’d bring a little life back into this thread. Just started the dresden files. It’s ok. I’ll give it a few books to see how I like it. Been a pretty easy read. Jack Carr is next. @Perrin Aybara whats up bro. Did you see the trailer for the wheel of time on Amazon. Looks interesting. Hopefully they do as good of a job as some of the other series they have done.

James Patterson has some nice action/mystery fiction novels as well...

In addition didn't realize there are 3 more books to Stephen King's Dark Tower series, so now looking to acquire them as I already have the first 4.

Lol. I’ve been around for a while now and know you have been too but where the fuck have you been lol. If you like that series I strongly suggest you get all 7 and start from the beginning. If you look back on this thread I’d have to say most of it has to do with the wheel of time and the dark tower. Myself @Perrin Aybara and a few others are huge fans.

I have the first 4 books of the Dark Tower and now going to get the last 3 and read them as already read the first 4. That's a great series.

As for Wheel of Time, never read them but my interest is now piqued on this series. With fall coming this may be a good time to snuggle up on those cooler nights with a good book.

If the first 4 are fresh in your head then yeah finish the series. If not I’d suggest starting over. I think you’ll appreciate it more if you do. If it’s not fresh. As for the wheel of time. I think you’re going to need more than the fall. It’s fucking epic. Gets a little slow towards the last 3/4 of the books. By slow I just mean there is so much to take in. The last 3 or 4 books was finished by another author. Brandon Sanderson. It really picks up again. I was never into fantasy but this is way different.

What books is everyone reading or have you read?

Doesnt have to be lifting, AAS, or training related. But it can be...

Just for the record, my favorite all time book is Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King.

Im a huge Stephen King fan, I loved the first 3 Bourne books (by the OG author), and theres a lot of others Im sure will come to mind later.
The first two Bourne books were awesome, especially the second. I always wanted to see that storyline implemented in the films with Jason Bourne running around Hong Kong and Kowloon searching for Marie.

Any recommendations for a dark gritty novel with time travel involved? I know Stephen King does have one, I forgot what it was called but it centers around the JFK assassination, never got to read it.

Dresden Files is an entertaining and easy read, not exactly a masterpiece, but worth a read for sure. I'm a few books behind now as I haven't read them in years.

I'm 100% going to watch Wheel of Time. I feel like there's a very high chance they screw it up completely though. I've read they've changed a lot. Still I'm excited to watch it and hoping for the best.

I'm reading the Malazan series right now. It's really good. Not an easy read at all and almost gave up on it on the second book, but pushed through and enjoying it now. Kind of just drops you in right in the middle with no explanation whatsoever and it's hard to follow at first.
