Thanks for the response. I appreciate the insight. I was shooting not sniffing. I'm down to one shot muscled at night. Dropped the dose from 2ml to 1,5 ml and will reduce to 1 then .5 then be done with this shit. It's been hard not picking up and blasting off again . I really want to get this behind me. So I've been doing my best to do the shot and go to sleep immediately. Where do you get pregagablin and the other thing.you mentioned? What is the nitric oxide supplements called?
Yeah I hear you and I know how hard that is. You deserve mad props for the discipline. It's so easy to think "one day won't hurt".. then "one more day won't hurt"... I've seen people try to take and then end up on even higher doses than they started!! It's awful.
Those are prescription drugs. Gabapentin and pregabalin (the latter being basically the same as the former, but stronger per mg so they prescribe it in lower dosages).
Agmatine is the supplement, stupid autocorrect lol
You are on this path for a reason. Find that reason to be clean and fucking latch into it like nothing else. It only gets easier. Maybe you can find a way to reward yourself each time you stick to your taper.
If you are still stocking to 5 days per dose adjustment then you have literally less than 15 days to go man! Then you will have like 4 days of feeling crappy. Then you are pretty much done if you do it right (eat healthy, do cardio at minimum, lift of you can, GO OUTSIDE--for real I don't care if it is winter fucking get your ass outside for a walk/hike IN THE WOODS, honestly you will be AMAZED at how good the fresh air feels, especially if you can get out on a sunny day and get some sunshine, take your wife with you too it's a nice bonding experience).
Pretty exhaustive list of withdrawal tools (you can probably find more via google):
Agmatine is honestly number 1 for me. There is good evidence that it lowers tolerance, prevents tolerance AND dependence, and can help the brain recover after addiction. 750 MG 2x per day.
Agmatine Sulfate
Cold pressed black seed oil
Magnesium
HOT BATHS, for real they are incredibly soothing, you won't want to get out
SAUNA. Another incredible tool. Honestly, when i was withdrawing, doing the sauna for 30-40 mins was a fucking game changer. I felt so good for several hours afterwards. It is similar to a hot bath. It releases several chemicals, from heat shock proteins to
dynorphin which is a neuropeptide that activates the Kappa opioid receptor, which causes
dysphoria (the opposite of
euphoria). It also reduces pain. There are studies showing that dynorphin is effective in treating drug addiction. The sauna will calm your muscles. Doing it in the evening is the best because you heat up, then your body cools off and when your body temperature lowers that naturally makes you more tired, so you wind up falling asleep much more easily. This makes you feel jittery, uncomfortable, and like you wanna GTFO of the sauna. Then when you get out you feel so relaxed and good.
- Honestly if you can get access to a Sauna fucking do it ASAP. It is SO. FUCKING. AMAZING.
Drinking a ton of
water,
stay hydrated and fed.
P5P - opioids significantly increase prolactin and lower testosterone. If you're cruising or on TRT then the T won't be an issue, but the prolactin will. That is why you can't bust a nut on dope. Take this for the next couple weeks until you stop dosing entirely and go CT. Once you go CT you know how it goes, you're gonna be a minute man. You'll be nutting after 30 seconds and then you'll be ready to go again 30 seconds later lol.
ONE last supplement:
mega-dosing Vitaming C: taking like 1-3 grams of vitamin C can basically stop withdrawals for a few hours. It is really weird! However, this can cause diarrhea and stomach upset, so it might not be worth it, You have TONS of supplements at your disposal!
Which brings me to my next tool:
Orgasm! Orgasm releases all kinds of pleasure chemicals in our brains. Fucking jerk off, fuck the wife, have her blow you and you can nut in her mouth after one minute flat.
This subreddit actually has a really good list of supplements as well. It is for kratom, but that is the same thing. It acts on opioid receptors (primarily, anyway) and all of them are applicable to normal opioid W/D too:
index - quittingkratom
I would take some of it with a grain of salt, like for example I am really not sure how effective L-tyrosine or L-phenylalanine are, or 5-HTP I never noticed anyway, or SAM-e. However, Black seed oil, L-theanine, ashwagandha, STRONG chamomile tea, magnesium are all super solid supplements for this journey.
Opioid users are also frequently low in vitamin D, so pick up some
D3 2000 IU softgels (those ones are highly rated by ConsumerLab).
OTC or Prescription drugs:
Rx: Already mentioned
Gabapentin and
pregabalin.
I forgot about Rx:
Clonidine. This is a really good one too, especially before bed. It is a blood pressure med but god damn it works great to stave off withdrawals.
I have never used modafinil or anything like that. The half life is waaaay too long for me to take it--it would fuck up my sleep really bad.
OTC:
loperamide to stop the diarrhea. That can make a big difference all by itself.
Tylenol can stop pain and has actually been shown to reduce psychological pain as well. Might be worth a try.
Something they mention at the bottom that I said before but I will repeat again:
Relapse
Relapse is a normal part of recovery. It has happened to every single one of us. Try not to beat yourself up about it or feel like you are worthless and useless. That doesn't help a thing. It is just a small bump in your road to recovery. All you can do is get back up, dust yourself off and get back to quitting as soon as you are ready. You obviously are ready to jump off, and you're doing a fucking DAMN GOOD JOB of it. Keep that shit up man. Keep it up. Whether it is for yourself and your health, for your wife/relationship, your finances, or a combination of everything.
YOU CAN FUCKING DO THIS BRO. Feel free to PM me if you need support or anything specific. As I said, I've been in your shoes multiple times.
I do think going from 0.5 of dope to something like a half a tsp of kratom twice per day for a week might be a really good tool. But again you need to be very wary of getting addicted to kratom. I remember the last opioid I quit was morphine (opium, basically, won't get into the specifics) and I went 2 days CT then took kratom and I felt to amazing. Well, I wound up taking kratom for the next 3 years. Then I quit for like a month and then went back on...
Which brings me to the next point: PAWS. PAWS is a mental thing there, after the physical symptoms are done, you start to have more cravings again. You might have things like: lethargy/lack of joy from life (stuff that should make you feel good will be lackluster); cravings, can be quite intense as you can imagine; and depression.
Other stuff to help with the whole process:
Again
, GO OUTSIDE for hikes and walks or bike rides! Even if it is cold!!!
Start a
gratitude journal and
start tracking your mood and sleep and everything.. I use the app "Bearable" which has a built in gratitude section. This is great because over the next couple months you'll be able to actually SEE the upward trend of you feeling better and better!! It can also help you isolate what kinds of things trigger you to not feel as good.
- Don't isolate your gratitude to just your journal. I think I probably say to my dog, my wife, myself "I am so, SO grateful to have you in my life" or "I am so grateful for my house/where I live" or "I am SO grateful this delicious meal" or "I am SO grateful for my health" or "I am SO grateful I had the mental strength and the support to kick dope. I'm so proud of myself, that was fucking HARD but I DID IT
Meditation: this is the fucking hardest thing to do while withdrawing. I like to meditate in the sauna or the bath (towards the beginning of the session before the discomfort kicks in).
Reward yourself frequently for good behavior - either tuck away a little money each day you are clean and buy yourself something you've wanted at the end, or treat yourself and your wife to a nice dinner date and then fuck afterwards
Lastly:
PEPTIDES
Several peptides come to mind that might help:
-
N-acetyl Selank (intranasal administration): reduces anxiety, could help you fall asleep at night. Increases BDNF so could help restore your brain.
-
BPC-157 (subcutaneous administration) - there is evidence that it can help restore/heal the brain functioning after addiction, mostly via the dopamine system and possibly via enhancing GABAergic transmission. (
source 1,
source 2, there's more too, I just want to be done with this post though. It is getting really huge.)
-
Ipamorelin/MOD-GRF right before bed, 100-150 mcg of each. This will help you fall asleep and get more restful sleep, which is REA
-
DSIP (Delta Sleep Inducing Peptide) - another peptide that can help you sleep better, more deeply, and get more rest.
Sleep is so imporant. Personally, when I get a really bad nights sleep, that makes me like "ugh if only I could do some kratom or morphine or whatever that would make this day so much better".
Anyway. I hope that helps bro. It basically turned in to "MFAAS's Ultimate Guide to Opioid Withdrawals!" (lol)
I think jJjburton might be going through something similar with Kratom again? If so,
@jJjburton it might be worth it for you to check this out too man... Despite what people say, Kratom withdrawals can be REALLY bad too, it can be very hard to quit...
