Your best cutting food hacks/ ultra low calorie meals & snacks

Meals or snacks that have almost no calories, for after you've met your calorie / nutrient goals for the day but still have hunger or a craving.

For example I use shiritaka noodles which have 0-25 calories (depending on brand), they taste like nothing but with the right sauce you can fill your stomach and mildly enjoy it for just a few calories, or throw in veggies and meat and make a stir fry that's super low cal.

I also use sugar free jello when I need a snack, a big bowl is only like 30 calories and it tastes pretty good. If I have a meal that's calorie dense but not filling I'll have some of this on the side to fill my stomach.

I have some sugar free syrup I make sauces with, not sure what else to use it for (I can only eat 10 pancakes or 0).

Anyone have any to add?

Cut up veggies if I’m starving Marvin.

Celery basically no calories. Sometimes I’ll eat raw carrots around post workout.

Dried seaweed if I’m craving salt.

Other then that... if I eat to much I do more cardio. Haha

Sugar free jello I’ll have to try that.

Sugar free gum

Sugar free jello cups

Spaghetti squash

Sweet potato fries

Cashew milk(25 cals a cup use for volume)

Extra lean ground beef drained

Naan or pita with hummus. Fairly dense and relatively low cals

Steamed carrots and green beans with garlic and herbs seasoning. Can eat 2lbs worth for like 3-400 cals

Smart pop popcorn. Full bag for only a few hundred cals.

I have a painfully bad sweet tooth and have to cheat anywhere I can haha

I've been making sugar free pudding with cow milk, the cashew milk would be a good replacement for that, and I can just add some protein powder.

& Ya I go ham on veggies too for sure, like you ever eat a raw carrot? Shit takes forever to chew, totally keeps you preoccupied lol.

Yes... a few years ago I ate too many and my hands turned orange LOL

All this talk of food is making me hungry

Anyways, here's my favorite:
Greek yogurt, a serving of chocolate protein powder, 1 tbsp or 2 of PB2, a bit of stevia, mix them all up. Add sliced bananas (half a banana should do).
It all comes out like a pudding, a chocolate peanut butter pudding if you like. It low on fat, but high on protein.

Mmm that sounds good! I don’t have any PB2 right now... do you think it would taste good without it?

In general, both fresh and steamed vegetables, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, red peppers, and cabbage are suitable for these purposes. You can grill vegetables. Low calories and satisfies hunger well.

And I personally like fresh carrots, just delicious. In general, I eat it in any form with pleasure.

Hey man,

Do be careful with the dried seaweed. ConsumerLab did a recent test and found heavy metals above acceptable levels in almost all the seaweed snacks they tested. I have decided to stop consuming the product after this--it's REALLY fucking bad. Even the ones that are approved still have pretty high levels IMO. Yes, they may be "under the daily limit recommended by the FDA", but fuck cadmium and arsenic and lead in any amount. Especially as a bodybuilder if you are eating a lot of rice then arsenic may not be something you want to add to your diet in any amount.

Here are the test results. I can only assume it is likely that much of the raw product comes from a select few bulk suppliers, so other brands would likely be affected as well. I suppose if you must eat such things, never eat more than 1 pack in a day...maybe even a half pack lol. I Know they amount to basically NOTHING, but damn that's a lot of metal!

I get plain 0% Greek yogurt, throw some ranch seasoning in it, and dip vegetables. I use Greek yogurt for so much shit when losing weight. Takes the place of pretty much all my dairy. Throw feta in it and make a ghetto 'bleu cheese' for chicken, throw it on turkey burrito bowl in place of cheese/sour cream, I've even made a low calorie hollandaise sauce with it. Nonfat Greek yogurt is a divine substance for weight loss.

I've never head of anyone doing this before, it sounds unusual but I'll have to try it before I judge lol.

Plain nonfat Greek yogurt tastes basically like nothing. It's a blank slate, most people sweeten it up and add honey and fruit and shit. I use it in savory dishes. It's cold boring dairy, basically just like sour cream without the sour flavor, so like Mexican cream, or crema.

It might take a small amount of getting used to because it's slightly different in texture, and it's a lot more dense -- but I have been doing it so long that I can't tell the difference between it and sour cream.

I even use the shit in place of mayo and make deviled eggs. Mix the yolks with a slug of mustard and enough Greek yogurt to make it smooth. Some onion powder, cayenne, maybe some dill in there. Adds like 5 calories to each egg half instead of 40-60 that mayo does.

I can house like 8 deviled egg halves with some pickles and baby carrots on the side and it's only like 350 calories.

Eating it as we speak. 4oz chicken breasts, half a green pepper, half a red, 1/4 of an onion. Half cup of 0% yogurt and some low sodium taco seasoning. About 370 calories. You can throw some brown rice in with it if you want a bigger meal, too. I prep like 10 of these bowls in like 30 minutes, premix the taco seasoning into the yogurt and you can reheat and scoop the shit in whenever you need a high protein low calorie meal.

Agree that fat free plain greek yogurt is incredible, as another person said. Take a spoon and mix it with some whey and you have a 40g protein snack/meal! I love it because it is very filling, is basically pure protein. If you wanna add a little extra you can add some blueberries and stevia. Makes for a really nice treat :)

Sweet potatoes are an awesome treat and very versatile.

Frozen peas, still frozen. I like to munch on some frozen peas!

I also use Greek yogurt in place of mayo, sour cream, buttermilk, and sometimes cream cheese. It is extremely versatile. I out greek yogurt on my tacos instead of sour cream. Both sour cream and mayo have always grossed me out. I think they taste bad, lol gross, and are just disgusting. Just weird fat calorie additions. My girl has made deviled eggs with greek yogurt and they were amazing. Potato salad with greek yogurt and it was amazing. Lemon bars/ cheesecakes/pies with greek yogurt. It just ends up being extra protein and tastes the same or better IMO.

Also greek yogurt mixed with baked sweet potato or pumpkin and whey protein isolate and maybe some hydrolyzed collagen is really good too. Especially with some cinnamon and a few raisins in there. It's a great dessert.

Greek yogurt gang. People sleep on it so hard, it's one of the more versatile low calorie foods. My diet was way more fucking boring before I figured out ways to use it.
