What do you guys take to help your skin?I'm not even 30 and my face looks old and tired, have bags under my eyes and just look tired. I'm not expecting a miracle just wondering if there's anything you guys use? Any cream recommendations? Sleep isn't the best but working on that along with diet/training.

For the best advice, post a picture of your skin (not something revealing, but something that gives us a better idea). You have to be more specific with what your problems are.

Can you improve your skin? Yes. From inside as well as the outside.

There are a lot of strategies.

My skin overall isn't too bad. It's just mainly my face, have a few wrinkles and bags under my eyes. Posting a picture of my face will be difficult to disguise my identity unfortunately.

How’s your skin care routine? Always wear a moisturizer with sun screen. Tretinoin is a good prescription cream to look into. Unfortunately testosterone ages skin.

Dark circles and bags have a genetic component. In some people, these features are just more visible. Many things can cause bags. How is your hydration? Electrolyte consumption?

Tretinoin, or "Retin-A" is a must have. It's the only skin product you could ever need. If you live in the US, you can get over the counter a drug named Differin Gel (Adapalene), which is also very powerful and similar to tretinoin.

Tretinoin will thicken the "thin" skin around your eyes, and over time, the darkness of the eye area (which is simply thin skin that is not able to hide the blood vessels/circulation), will reduce or even remove the darkness entirely. This is a permanent change to your skin, but it requires ongoing maintenance.

If you are interested in Tretinoin, I can tell you more about how to use it.

The next thing is to use things like Botox, Dysport etc. You have to find a reasonable doctor who is fair on pricing. The overall cost is worth it because it will totally get rid of all wrinkles and you won't make new ones. You have to do it at least every 6 months. It's worth the investment in yourself.

The answer is Tretinoin and Botox. They are individually power, and have synergy together. It may sound like a lot, but if you start those at your age, you'll essentially "freeze yourself in time", unless you really yo yo up and down with your bodyweight too many times.

Haha we posted pretty much at the same time. I apply tret at bed followed by a moisturizer as it dries my skin out like crazy and I only use it 3xweek. OP needs to watch American Psycho and learn Patrick Batemans skin regimen.

At the moment I have no skin care routine, don't wear masks or anything that's why I thought I would put this post up and make a start, I have heavy wrinkles on my forehead just don't want to look silly after botox! I will have a read into tretinion and see if I can get hold of some in the UK.

I drink 3litres minimum a day so would say I'm not dehydrated, electrolyte I wouldn't have a clue as I don't supplement any electrolytes or anything.

I appreciate the replys.

Haha. Exactly. If you want to look good, it takes dedication and discipline.

There are different tretinoin products. Gels and creams. Some are better than others, but they will equally benefit your skin and accomplish the same end result. Some of the creams are powerful but not as irritating. Using a light moisturizer (Cetaphil is actually very good) is important because you will peel and the skin gets tight.

To the OP especially:

You have to go aggressive at first, and then the maintenance is easy. Don't use Tretinoin once and wait for magic. Do it until you peel, and can't handle it. Then wait. And jump back on it.

Maybe do this in the winter time or when it's not sunny. Tretinoin and sun don't mix well. You have to resurface your skin and then give yourself enough time to heal, and then eventually you can handle the sun with no problems.

Apply Tretinoin as many days in a row as possible, then back off. The schedule can and will vary depending on what you can handle. You will look like a red lobster at times, but just deal with it. The schedule can be like 2 on 2 off, 3 on 1 off, 3 on 2 off, 4 on 2 off. You can do any variety of 1-4+ days on Tretinoin and 1-7+ days off. The key is to get ahead of the skin turnover and make it turnover again.

The goal should be to totally resurface the skin. Then you only have to maintain.....once in awhile. Sometimes you will only need do it a couple times a week and sometimes you can skip a month or two months or longer. But you have to get deep into it, and change your face with Tretinoin. It takes time, maybe a couple of months (but you'll see results immediately. You will be glowing, healthy looking. The best version of your skin).

Skincare is easy when you know you have some Tretinoin. If you could only take one skin care item with you, it would be this one.

Also, BGpharma in the source forum sells tretinoin gel. BG pharmaceutical drugs bgpharmadrugs.com

You won't look silly after Botox. You can freeze your whole head, or you just reduce the movement so you don't make those muscle movements and wrinkles as strongly as you are right now. My advice would be to freeze your face and eliminate all wrinkles, but that depends on you. Some people you know may notice the difference, but they probably wouldn't assume you're getting Botox at your age. If you were older, people would notice if you got Botox because it can take decades off of someone's age.

Just make sure you stay hydrated and take a good multivitamin, at least. The skin needs a lot of vitamins and maybe you're deficient (everyone is deficient in nutrition). If you have light skin, look up Astaxanthin and Vitamin E. Take a lot of vitamin C. You should be taking those. And other carotenes are useful. Eat a lot of sweet potatoes. Those things will protect your new and improved skin, but nothing besides the Botox will remove all wrinkles.

I have recently started taking my multivitamins again so that should help, may hold off on the botox for now and use some face creams until winter, reevaluate and then move onto tretinon in the winter if no joy. If all else fails then botox it is.

Moisturizer and sun screen is all you can do for maintenance.
Nothing else works.

Consider
1) Stopping gear
2) Surgical route: bleph/laser/peels/botox.

Don't waste your time and money on anything else.

Gear definitely makes you look old and shitty.

I'm not currently on gear (will be by the end of the year hopefully) haven't took anything for 4 years, just got that old looking face haah

Just get tretinoin, start soon, and thank me later.

you don't need creams for women and sure as hell not botox

what is your diet? this matters. low carb, fruits when you do eat carbs

be lean, fantasies look old, slin ages
what hormones do you use? what is your fasting blood sugar? do you go tanning? stress? blood pressure, do you take any drugs (prescription meds are drugs too).

He's 29 and looks wrinkled. Some people just have those particular genetics or bad habits that result in an overly wrinkled face. He certainly does need Botox if he wants to stop, prevent, or reverse this process.

And if he can live with the wrinkles, Tretinoin will make the wrinkles softer and less "permanent". His overall look will be so much better, than the wrinkles will have less attention in the overall picture.

If he doesn't intervene now, how will he look at 39? You do him no favors by basically shaming him and leading down a road of interventions that are too minor to address his concerns.

Bad habits greatly affect the quality of the skin. Moreover, if people leave them after 1-3 years, the quality and appearance of the skin is completely different.
