Yes, I retired at 15yrs (medical retirement). Had a line number for E7 at 9 yrs. Made evey rank the first time (I test well) E8 took a few tries..its more political after E7.

Have you guys actually been in the mil? I doubt they test for that. Rec drugs and alcohol mostly. I don't think it's too different in the US.

I was in the Oz military and knew plenty on the sauce and they rarely tested anyone. Some blokes have big mouths and can’t help but talk up all the gear they’re on - some of those were tested. Recently I read that the US military was going to crack down but I don’t know if this is widespread:

I’ve been enlisted and an officer in the military. I wouldn’t recommend enlisting unless your job is highly technical and translates to something that is in demand in the civilian world. Not knocking enlisted military members— I am a mustang with a star or two on my good conduct metal.

People and times change. Your outlook on life may change. The person you may be when you are a young man or woman will be different than the person you grow into. You may look back at a beaten up body and regret your career choices as you age. Most people who enlist do not retire from the military.

But you will always need money to get you by in life. That never changes. So always plan to make something of yourself. And a job that is only applies to the service may not be a wise choice. Yut Yut.

Edit: to answer your actual question though, I remember my buddy taking winstrol orals during MOS school. He fell out of a hike and I got him to stop that crap. That was the first time I saw steroid use in the military and that was like after I’d been in for less than half a year.

No one is going to test you for AAS. Just mind your business and do your job. Problem is going to be if you are at war like we were in Iraq and AFG and you are trying to continue to do TRT or a cycle in a continuous field environment. That’s not gonna happen unless you’re on a base. Or anytime you are going to the field for an extended amount of time. You are also unclean. Otherwise knock yourself out.

But I’ll tell you, the best I ever performed on my PFT tests I was probably at my smallest. Maxing the run time does not favor carrying excess weight. To be functionally fit, a lot of these body building muscles are just fluff.

In basic training, it's all about numbers. If you made it though MEPS, and get to basic training, you will graduate barring extreme injury or death, or they'd have to catch you in the act of doing something, like smoking crack in the bathroom. It would have to be something totally absurd. No one will go through the trouble to test some new soldier etc for steroids. It's only downsides, zero upsides, for everyone, from the instructors, to the commanders, all the way up the chain of command, and the unit itself. No one in the command would approve it. They'd have to find actual steroids on you in basic training and then they wouldn't even test you. They'd chapter you and you'd be gone. But it's impossible to bring anything like that with you. Impossible. Forget it. This guy 4Drago is making it up.

If you get prescribed test by your doc before you enter service the military will honor the diagnosis and allow trt.

so i have had conversations with people enlisted on active duty, they would be called SF as they are army divers of eod or something of that realm and they told me straight to my face they take trt and its ok in the military. as well as some other EOD guys ive talked to and some Recon guys also. So maybe its different now or maybe its for different people?

All services are the same when it comes to this topic. No one is letting anyone into the Airforce with a low testosterone diagnosis nor will any Airforce doctor "honor your civilian TRT prescription" once you're in the Airforce.

Did they say they were prescribed TRT by military doctors? Or did they mean they just self administer their own anabolic steroids as their TRT and that no one cares about that and no one will test for it?
