Considering joining the military.

Please do not listen to any comment in this thread from 4Drago. He has no idea what he's talking about and it sounds like he's just making it up.

The only thing you need to know is what was already said: tell no one and you will be fine.
You're an idiot. As an E8 at retirement I think I know a thing or 2.
Yes, I retired at 15yrs (medical retirement). Had a line number for E7 at 9 yrs. Made evey rank the first time (I test well) E8 took a few tries..its more political after E7.
Sounds like you're just talking out your ass.

Either way you have to come off for 6 months anyways due to basic training. It’s not the US Army I’m joining it’s the defence forces.
No big deal amigo, we told you once you level up you will be able to continue living that enhanced life. Where I'm from it's 9 months so... life is just like that sometimes you have to embrace the suck for the better future!

Have you guys actually been in the mil? I doubt they test for that. Rec drugs and alcohol mostly. I don't think it's too different in the US.
I was in the Oz military and knew plenty on the sauce and they rarely tested anyone. Some blokes have big mouths and can’t help but talk up all the gear they’re on - some of those were tested. Recently I read that the US military was going to crack down but I don’t know if this is widespread:

I’ve been enlisted and an officer in the military. I wouldn’t recommend enlisting unless your job is highly technical and translates to something that is in demand in the civilian world. Not knocking enlisted military members— I am a mustang with a star or two on my good conduct metal.

People and times change. Your outlook on life may change. The person you may be when you are a young man or woman will be different than the person you grow into. You may look back at a beaten up body and regret your career choices as you age. Most people who enlist do not retire from the military.

But you will always need money to get you by in life. That never changes. So always plan to make something of yourself. And a job that is only applies to the service may not be a wise choice. Yut Yut.

Edit: to answer your actual question though, I remember my buddy taking winstrol orals during MOS school. He fell out of a hike and I got him to stop that crap. That was the first time I saw steroid use in the military and that was like after I’d been in for less than half a year.

No one is going to test you for AAS. Just mind your business and do your job. Problem is going to be if you are at war like we were in Iraq and AFG and you are trying to continue to do TRT or a cycle in a continuous field environment. That’s not gonna happen unless you’re on a base. Or anytime you are going to the field for an extended amount of time. You are also unclean. Otherwise knock yourself out.

But I’ll tell you, the best I ever performed on my PFT tests I was probably at my smallest. Maxing the run time does not favor carrying excess weight. To be functionally fit, a lot of these body building muscles are just fluff.

i want to join the military but they have alot of restrictions mainly on stupid shit imo. because back in the day they would take anyone no matter what the case was and now its like fucking child support or debt keeps you out thats fucking stupid! but the good old FFL takes everyone

Sorry, not buying that. Sounds more like a stolen valor situation. Your previous information totally contradicts any supposed reality you present now.

You Sir are an ass. I have more respect for myself then to allow your idiot accusation of "stolen valor" to stir me. I dedicated 15 yrs to my country. Not my fault you peeked during high school

I can’t believe they actually tested you off of that alone. Pretty shitty tbh.
They didn't test him because it's not a real experience. It's only fantasy.

In basic training, it's all about numbers. If you made it though MEPS, and get to basic training, you will graduate barring extreme injury or death, or they'd have to catch you in the act of doing something, like smoking crack in the bathroom. It would have to be something totally absurd. No one will go through the trouble to test some new soldier etc for steroids. It's only downsides, zero upsides, for everyone, from the instructors, to the commanders, all the way up the chain of command, and the unit itself. No one in the command would approve it. They'd have to find actual steroids on you in basic training and then they wouldn't even test you. They'd chapter you and you'd be gone. But it's impossible to bring anything like that with you. Impossible. Forget it. This guy 4Drago is making it up.

It's a fantasy. "Oh look at me, I was so jacked, my instructors were so amazed that they wanted to test me, and I volunteered to do it!". Sure buddy. You don't have a choice to volunteer. It's not a negotiation. If they want to test you, they tell you to go piss, without discussion. But they wouldn't do this anyway. So enough.

Yeah and so did I, and I am telling you: you're lying.

So you believe the Air Force operates just like the Army? Idiot once again. Any Commander can do as he sees fit. You must have been there with me. Like the huge black dude that weighted over 260lbs in another flight that they allowed to eat twice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so he could maintain his size. Then he just disappeared.
You don't know shit about what your talking about. For all you know it could have been a big issue just before I arrived and the Commander was weeding it out. You Sir are still an idiot.

Okidoki. Hopefully some other former or current military people here will see this thread and comment.

You show your extreme ignorance if you believe everyone makes it through basic barring injury or death. Again you're an idiot.

Ya I was just so jacked at 220lbs 15% bodyfat...idiot.

If you get prescribed test by your doc before you enter service the military will honor the diagnosis and allow trt.
Anyone interested in joining the military: if you listen to 4Drago's information, you won't be able to join. They won't give you a waiver for "low testosterone" and if your dumbass recruiter somehow gets you a waiver, once you go active duty, they will kick your ass out/medical discharge immediately. I've seen it happen. It's the equivalent of being a type 1 diabetic. It makes you basically nondeployable. That's just how it is. Forget it.

And 99% of the time, no military medical personnel will prescribe you TRT. Not gonna happen. So forget it. Maybe if you are a high rank and you really push the issue, maybe possibly someone could prescribe it but let me tell you, it is rare.....and you are playing with your career if you start looking for this.

Don't listen to 4Drago. His fantasy make believe stories will set you up for failure.

so i have had conversations with people enlisted on active duty, they would be called SF as they are army divers of eod or something of that realm and they told me straight to my face they take trt and its ok in the military. as well as some other EOD guys ive talked to and some Recon guys also. So maybe its different now or maybe its for different people?

So you're one of those special liers? The ones who cherry pic info so they can win a point

How about you include the last sentence idiot. The one that says " Every branch of service is different. I'm not sure if low test and trt is disqualifying or not.

You're a special kind of idiot.

All services are the same when it comes to this topic. No one is letting anyone into the Airforce with a low testosterone diagnosis nor will any Airforce doctor "honor your civilian TRT prescription" once you're in the Airforce.

You are making it all up. You are putting people in harm's way with your ridiculous tall tales. Just stop it already.

Did they say they were prescribed TRT by military doctors? Or did they mean they just self administer their own anabolic steroids as their TRT and that no one cares about that and no one will test for it?

Guys will call it TRT but it's self prescribed TRT. Did they make a distinction?

I'm sorry you didn't make anything of yourself bud. Don't take it out on me. With some hard work you'll be OK.
