Just received latest bloodwork and I’ve noticed a trend over the last 3 years. My IGF has consistently been 60-73 and Z score a -2. To me the results look like I’m bottom of the barrel when it comes to GH production.


My question is if I was to start using 3-4 IU would it be that much of a game changer for me with my levels being so low?

Every post I read about 2-3 IU people say it’s mainly just faster hair/nail growth. Will I notice anything else other than that?

Since exogenous GH stops natural production, for the average, z score 0, 2iu likely puts them modestly higher than where they started, with moderate effects.

It would put your GH far higher than where it likely currently is. I’d expect a much more significant benefit than average (but GH is still slow, so be patient, a few months may be needed to see real quality of life improvements).

On the other hand, if IGF doesn’t rise, you have a some other issue impairing GH to IGF-1 conversion. Liver issues, inflammation, e2 too low etc. Have you checked those markers.?

With low test it was very obvious. But I can’t say I’ve noticed anything from low igf. but I’m also not sure what to look for.

My IGF was lower than yours and I've been running 2IUs and it basically tripled mine after several months of use. I do get sides like water retention and CTS but it isn't too bad. Muscle fullness is improved but whether it has any improvement on hypertrophy I can't say. Also notice some moderate leaning out without changing cals or increasing cardio.

I recently switched to 5IUs 3x/week on the days I lift. Taken pre bed and it has a dramatic improvement on sleep. Wake up a bit groggy but I could easily sleep 8-10 hours. Also water retention and CTS seem to have subsided so I'll stick with this to see how things pan out over the next few months.
